We lost but it was a well played game early until the wheels came off. Watch about half of it. Ethan Martin had a great game against Isaiah Thomas. Macklin had a bad game against a much bigger Landon Turner (6'10"). Turner would have been an NBA great if he hadn't gotten paralyzed.

Great, crisp video for something almost 40 years old.

Ethan Martin is one of my favorite LSU BB players ever. I loved the way he played the game.

You wouldn’t happen to have a valid mailing address for E, would you? Would like to have him sign a photo.

No, the phone slam was 1987. Indiana beat us in 1981. We were robbed by the refs in 1987. Knight should have been ejected, we should have gotten technical points off of that and they should have called the foul towards the end to put Fess Irvin on the line to win.

Not meaning to be a bitch for a mild correction, but that was 1986. I remember that year like it was yesterday. LOVED beating Kentucky to get to the Final Four. (I lived in Kentucky at the time. It was GLORIOUS!)

Thanks for the great memories!

I believe we used the slogan “Let’s get silly in Philly” for that Final Four.

Swamp, manswers is right. The bang the phone game was elite 8 1987. The refs got intimidated by knight, failed to call a tech on him for his childish outburst, then called the game iu's way after that point.

See? I TOLD you my memory is perfect. I'm not senile at all. I do remember that game in '87 now. I watched that one on the common TV in the lobby of South Stadium dorm as a freshman. That was definitely spring semester '87.

My most humble apologies to manswers. I shall now go flog my left eyeball with a wet noodle in penance.

Thanks for the correction, tigahlovah.

Of course we'll never know if it would have made a difference, but I always wonder...we were up at half and Dale kept the team in the locker room so long at half that they did not have a chance to warm up at all.

Couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with a shot in that second half.

I graduated high school in 87. We're about the same age, and I don't consider us old-YET.

Is that the game that Bobby Knight said something to the effect: “ I looked at the score, it didn’t look good, I looked at the clock, it didn’t look good, I looked at Dale Brown, I knew I still had a chance”. ?
