I am looking for real answers because this is the travel distance for Texas and LSU's away games. For LSU, if they were to go to UT this year, it would be their second closest away game. As for Texas, they have three games that are nearly double the travel distance.

So then why eliminate that game?

436 Miles: U of Texas to LSU Tiger Stadium

Texas Away Schedule
385: Texas Tech (Lubbock, TX)
210: Oklahoma (Dallas, TX)
470: Oklahoma State (Stillwater, OK)
699: Kansas (Lawrence, KS)
675: Kansas State (Manhattan, KS)

LSU Away Schedule
588: Vanderbilt (Nashville, TN)
682: Florida (Gainsville, FL)
441: Auburn (Auburn, AL)
547: Arkansas (Fayetteville, AK)
353: Texas A&M (College Station, TX)

Stop using distance as a source of reasoning

It’s all about CFB, especially major CFB, having rogue dictators in conference commissioners. They police their own schools and no one above them to direct them.

The cancellation of the Texas game is all about lack of uniformity, or fear of, in COVID procedure

Kudos for the effort, but the SEC/Big 12 want to be able to control every aspect of the environment - fans, BOTH teams, sidelines, etc.

If they came here the Big 12 would have rules, the SEC would have rules, it would just be a mess.

I get your point, but this is probably our best bet at football.

I was looking forward to having them here, so we could shut the a/c down and beat their azz.

Do you only start following college football in September? How can you not know the answer to this question?

If both of us are good enough maybe we get the game in the playoffs. More likely in a bowl game of sorts. There's only so many teams that are gonna get the chance and prime matchups will be of much importance. Of course dependent on actually having some semblance of a bowl season.

I’m glad it’s cancelled this season. When this mess clears up...IF it clears up...they’ll play it in a full house. Sure, the teams will have a different on-field look. It deserves to be played in a prime time environment with a hundred thousand in the seats. That’s also more revenue.

Distance isn't an important factor. They pretty much fly everywhere flying a little longer doesn't matter

The Texas game has been canceled because it would violate the state ordered stay at home mandate. Our trial lawyer governor has given into the blue state bullshite/ it would be unhealthy for people to leave their homes and it’s better for everybody to lose your business, livelihood don’t go to school and not get the virus. So there you have it.

I was looking forward to having them dropped off right in front of their locker room, have the locker room extremely chilled and dehumidified with lots of opportunities for hydration and beating their @ss.

Are you sure it’ll be rescheduled? Sounds like an easy way for Texas to get out of the return trip.
