Was thinking of taking my 5 year old to this years spring game. She has never been and I think it would be a good way to test the water and see if she is ready for the real thing. I had a few questions for those of you that have been before.

From what I have read, it is a free game right? Does that mean we just walk into any gate and find a seat?

Does the band play/perform during the game?

Are the concession stands open?

Thanks in advance for helping me get the next generation of Tiger Fans growing.

Under Miles it was always a day game and it sucked.

It'll be interesting to see how Coach O changes things and the format. He already changed it to a night game which should boost attendance.

National L Club Spring Game 2017

looks like

More details about this year’s spring game will be released as they become available.

not really sure why this is down voted. I tried to answer OP's questions by going straight to lsusports.net and I could get no specifics.

From my experiences over the past few years you just walked in the gate at the disgnated side. Everyone sits on the same side of the stadium. For the day games it would be hot as hell and you just cooking in the sun. And yes to concessions

Yes. You walk into the designated gates. The West side fills up first and then they open the South end zone.

Usually, yes.

Sign her up for Mike's Kids Club. It's a one time fee (I think $15) that's good until they're 13. They usually have special activities on the day of the Spring Game. Last year, I know you could sign up and tour Tiger Stadium and the locker room before the game.

this wasn't a Miles thing. This is the first night game since the 90's. It didn't suck any more or less than it did at any point before him either. (Joe Alleva did make some changes that sucked) It's a scrimmage. If you're bringing kids, they'll have a blast.

He didn't start the daytime spring games, no. But he refused to change them to night games which was well within his power. So yes, it was a Miles thing because he refused yet another obvious needed change which O was smart enough to do immediately.

It was $15 but they bumped it up to $20 either this last year or 2 years ago. Still worth it, events are cool and kids love it. Toured the locker room the past 2 years.

Should expect a big change this year regarding the spring game. Coach O will give fans something fun to watch and I'd imagine he's going to use this game to help see which players react well to playing in a "game" atmosphere. Miles always seemed to sleep walk through this game. Now coach O won't see anything he hasn't seen before in practice during this game, but he will probably be looking for big play capabilities and consistency in the younger players in the new system.
