After looking at their stats so far, LSU should have no problem. WV averages only 2.6 yards per rush gave up two punt returns for 97 yards total. Thats pathetic. They throw the ball more and their QB is no threat to run. They have played very weak defense so far and have not seen anything close to a defense like we have. We never loose to mickey mouse offenses anyway. WV better hope their QB can last in this one.

If they are going to stay in the game it will have to be through the air. I just can't see such a one dimensional offense having any luck at all, especially with the LSU secondary

i agree also. Miss st and Oregon worried me much more. A team that throws it 45-50 times a game is in trouble against LSU. DB's are good enough to play man and if they can't or don't attempt to run Mingo and Montgomery will have a field day on blitzes. Unless LSU turns the ball over or screws up on special teams which is possible with the pathetic kickoffs i don't think the game is ever in question.

Curious as to what conference the referees will be from for this game.

I could see some bullshite pass interference calls effecting the outcome of the game, given our "physical" play. Perhaps not a valid concern but just a thought.

All of WVU has has 236 rushing yards. LSU has players at 226 and 218. That's right LSU almost has two rushers with more yards than WVU's team.

WVU offensive rushing stats 42 (Marshall, which allowed Ohio 271), 102 (Norfolk State, which allowed Howard 116), and 92 (Maryland, which allowed Miami 172).

LSU defensive rushing stats 95 (Oregon, which averages 261/game), -4 (Northwestern, which averages 54/game), and 52 (MS State, which averages 231/game).

With rushing numbers like this, I believe LSU can easily concentrate on the passing game and shut down WVU's offense.

When you can't run the ball, you can not control the clock. They will have to throw 50 times in this game to even have a chance so that means our secondary will have more chances for ints. and sacks for our defense. Smith is not a running QB. He is in the negative category. Oregon is a much more balanced team. I am not worried at all about this one. We get our lead and pound the ball right at them all night long.

The fact alone that you guys have to create threads like this proves you have some concerns about this game. I would assume there wasn't any LSU should easily dominate Northwestern State threads a couple of weeks ago.

Dont worry you guys are faster, stronger and more athletic. We can't run, throw or play defense. Our special teams sucks as well. LSU will prove this weekend why WVU isn't going to the SEC. We can't compete with the Big Boys.

This is a given. We don't lose to in state schools.

This game reminds me of Miss State, a lot of media attention. The WV students will be loud and crazy, but it's nothing more that hot air. Once the game starts, reality will set in for the WV players.

I only have 2 questions about this game.

1. Will LSU let them get in the endzone? Of the 3 teams we have played, only Oregon was able to reach the endzone. Other 2 teams were held to field goals.

2. Will LSU get a big enough lead for Mett to get some playing time in the 2nd half?

I just can't see WVU as much of a threat. I know they have some real athletes on their team, but they aren't balanced and this LSU D is scary. I think our D will eat them alive.

They have a weak OL and the only way for them to move the ball on offense will be to dink and dunk down the field.

Yea you are right. Every week the other team will be built up to make it look like they have a chance of any upset. Expect this one to be over by halftime. A high school crowd of 55,000 will not rattle our team.

I don't see how we can blow by WVU. Their quarterback has already thrown for 1000 yards this season. And yes I realize it was against weaker opponents. And yes I realize that our defense is probably the best in the nation. But let's not feel invencible here. I hope we do crush them, but they are not a team to take lightly.

Cam Newton has thrown for almost 900 yards in two games and they are 0-2. They pass almost every play, they should have 1000 passing yards.

Dude, LSU looks really strong and all, but WVU will be pumped, the crowd will be nuts, and anything can happen.

Toss a few turnovers and this game could be tight.

If LSU plays well, then it should be maybe a comfortable win. Not a domination, but a good win. That's all anybody could ask for.

Absolutely... We say we're not worried about WVU because we are worried about WVU
