That's with us getting shut out and playing in the SEC.

Funny.

LSU - 34 PPG

TEXAS -31 PPG

Sorry if this goes against your narrative, Old

Posting a 72 in a 7OT game will do wonders for that though.

It wasnt. But people like to use the arguement that we cant score. And judging by the stats , this is false.

The offense wasn’t awful as some here have suggested.

Southeastern and LA Tech were able to shut it down. The offense last year was terrible.

ETA: They did show glimpses of greatness, but they were just that, glimpses. This year should be much better.

We have the better defense. Also, our offense improves while there’s takes a shot. Lost there best target in Lil Jordan Humphrey. We have the better offense and the better defense

You have that backwards, LSU's defense couldn't get SELU off of the field.

quote:

5/6 SELU’s fourth down conversion rate. LSU’s offense never had the ball because the Lions had three consecutive drives consisting of a total of 36 plays, gaining 156 yards, and eating up 16:36 of clock. It also resulted in zero points. This was the perfect strategy for SELU, as they essentially milked the clock for the second half. It was death by a thousand paper cuts. SELU only had one play go for more than 15 yards, and they used all four downs to pick up conversions. It’s a strategy that almost no other opponent on LSU’s schedule will use, but those conversions kept drives alive and kept LSU’s offense off the field.

The offense was good in between the 20’s but struggled in the red zone. Some of it was play calling because they had an automatic field goal kicker. Some was lack of a consistent run game which is what you need in the red zone. I think the offense as a whole and in the red zone will be much better this year.

Didnt we only lose 2 starters on O?

Thats huge advantage as far as growth from one year to another.

Almost as if the offense couldn't move the ball and kept giving it straight back to SELU/tech keeping the defense on the field.

It's no surprise that you have the clown take. You think SELU having three consecutive drives averaging 12 plays per drive is the offense's fault? Typical LNCHBOX idiocy.

LSU had 31 at the end of regulation in that game, which is exactly what it averaged in the other 12 games it played.

That number should be SO much higher considering all the failed opportunities in the red zone. Not to mention the severe lack of passing TDs in general.

LSU offense goes punt, fumble, punt, punt against Tech and punt, punt, punt against SELU and you defend it. Never change.

We averaged like 29 points in regulation.
