Did you read the part where the items Texas is reducing is just to match what LSU is already charging? They dropped the hot dog three dollars and it is the same price as LSU. Probably skipped that part. It doesn’t fit what you are trying to say.

The University of Texas, which reported the highest revenues in college sports last year, recently announced it’s slashing game-day concession prices at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on items such as hot dogs, popcorn and fountain drinks. It’s a move, sparked by the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons last year, expected to spread throughout college sports if successfully implemented.

It’s worth noting that some of UT’s new prices are the same as those currently in place for LSU’s concessions. For example, hot dogs are $4 at LSU and will be the same price at UT this fall.

Texas is cutting some of their prices down to... LSU's prices.. Great article, Caitie.

Living in Atlanta, Mercedes Benz stadium is GREAT.

Arthur Blank made a really intelligent move making fan friendly prices for concessions. We buy a lot more than we ever would have before when we go to Atlanta United FC games there.

For $2 you can get a cup and the soda stations believe it or not, are setup like fast food restaurants where you get as many refills as you want and you can do it yourself (And they are EVERYWHERE, not like you have to walk 5 minutes away to find one)...bottled Dasani water is only $2. Hot dogs $3. Restaurant quality food is routinely under $10. TONS and TONS of good options too.

I went to a braves game recently and the concession prices were a joke by comparison.

Sad that the LSU AD CFO thinks of a football game as an absolute zero sum game financially and assumes fans' spending habits are static and cannot be influenced.

It's a very rudimentary understanding of economics and quite frankly is embarrassing to know that someone with such limited capacity for comprehending nuanced finance holds such a powerful position in the very field he is demonstrably unqualified to work within.

...and with profit margins for concessions it doesn't take long at all to replace any "lost revenue," if there is actually such a thing.

It doesn't matter what the price is if it still tastes like crap.

Do you realize Austin's median income is nearly $20,000 more than that of people in Louisiana?

um, in case you haven't noticed, attendance is hemorrhaging. lowering prices is merely a way to get more people back so you can have customers

"LSU’s most recent game-day efforts include new televisions for Tiger Stadium and the testing of a flexible season ticket football package"
this is one tiny, tiny step in at least a dozen steps that need to be taken to get people to attend.
