This team has improved every game since Troy.
This isn't true. Looked like shite first half against Auburn, lost to bama, looked like shite first half against Tenn.
The team has been up and down.

Of course we would like to see the team start fast, but making adjustments and playing better over the course of the game is the hallmark of this team as of late.
Look at Auburn this week. They were tied 7-7 with ULM before getting a TD in the final seconds of the 1st half. Can you imagine tRant if that was LSU?

Then why wasn’t he fired two years ago like he should’ve been?

Well nooooooooo shite. Like beating no. 10, now no. 6, Auburn?

He probably means winning a championship, you know, the reason we hired a new coach to begin with. Beating Auburn at home isn’t unprecedented.

So which coach would have gotten us an SECC his first season?
Herman? (wasn't coming. Texas all the way)
Jimbo? (played us for a raise and tanked the season without his QB)
Fleck? (Minnesota is worse since he took over and the fan base is already unhappy)
Fedora? (NC is a dumpster fire - dead last in the ACC)
Fuente? (good coach but hasn't beaten a top 25 team this season)

The post he was replying to didn’t say anything about winning the SEC this year so take that straw man somewhere else.

We only beat 1 team with a winning record though
You do realize that football schedules are made years ahead of time. Strength of schedule is great to have when its high, but its impossible to have any real control over. Just being in the SEC and winning your games is impressive no matter the other team's win totals.

So what were the expectations for the HC this year? 10-3? 11-2? 12-1? NY6?

fans lowered their standards/expectations when it comes to Orgeron
No shite! Before it was win the west or the SEC or be ranked top four to eight or the season was a failure. Now, it's win nine-ten games and go to a ok bowl and that's acceptable. Looks like O found a new way to success at LSU. frick up real bad to start the season and win toward the end and the O enablers blow smoke up everyone's arse.
This season tanked at Mississippi State and at home against Troy. If the last coach had shite in the bed against a fricking Troy and finished 4-5 in the SEC, 98% here would have been screaming terrible year no matter what else happened.
Moving goal post to make being mediocre acceptable is becoming the norm.

So tired of people being happy about beating expectations that orgeron immediately lowered.
Well said.

Can’t believe this hasn’t been said more but IF
Chip goes to Florida
Mullen goes to Tenn
Jimbo goes to A&M
This will be a tough offseason for lsu fans. There is no way to cut it. Next year it’s NY6 bowl and compete for sec championship. This is what Alleva hires O to do and nothing less. No rebuilding was mentioned.
Having practically zero experienced running backs and a new qb will make it extremely difficult with that schedule.

It doesn’t matter since this has absolutely nothing to do with my post, the post I was replying to, or the post it was originally in response to.

It has everything to do with the pervasive thought on the rant with regards to the HC.
ie. from a few posts up:
quote:

If you don't want to answer that's fine.

We will be Top 15 after we beat that Aggie arse and win a decent bowl game. If we get a NYD bowl game and 10 wins, we can at least say we've made progress over the recent Miles era. Next year we need to improve beyond that - not have a meltdown against a lower team and hopefully beat Bama, and we'll show even more improvement.

Not bad. Without Troy loss, we would probably be 8-10. Pretty impressive.

What a joke of a program lol

Then maybe you should respond to that post, because your responses make no sense in the context of the three posts previously mentioned. I’m sorry that it is either too difficult for you to comprehend, or you just blindly jumped in with a canned O defense, even though it had nothing to do with the post you replied to, and were called out for it.

Ok. Cool. Then you are ok with the original statement by the other poster?

I doubt many give him that much leeway. The funny thing is I'm not sold on O at all. I'm just sick of all the negativity.
I get just as frustrated as anyone else. I just don't incessantly whine, complain and have a crappy attitude about the program.
