LSU needs to start playing the portal game.

I know it’s frustrating watching all these players leave but it’s what college football is. They opened this door and there is no turning back. At this point LSU needs to really focus on bringing in some great talent every year through the portal. Say what you want about quitters but we have seen a ton of heisman winners and candidates who were transfers recently. If you don’t get on board you will get left behind.
This is the all portal team for this season. This team would be a contender

Then you have guys like Justin Fields who didn't win the Heisman but had great seasons.
People that get pissed at the portal are stupid. Fields turned into a first round pick and was going to be wasted at Georgia. When there is that much money on the line I can't blame people for transferring.
Burrow certainly changed his fortunes by transferring.

Someone will be here shortly to tell you that what Burrow did is somehow different than what Fields did because Burrow graduated at Ohio State.

I'm expecting LSU to be heavily engaged in the portal.
1. We can't go into next season with only 2 QBs.
2. We can use depth at almost every single position.
3. Kelly doesn't have a whole lot of time to recruit. It may be difficult to put together a full class.

LSU needs to start playing the NIL game or get left behind. Hell we are already behind. These dirty boosters better learn how to play the game because they are lost. They can find ways to pay millions in buyouts and new contracts , but they can’t figure out how to pay the players?

Skipped to the end to agree with the OP. We need an entire staff of people dedicated to this. Some dedicated to keeping players out, and the rest dedicated to filling needs with it. Why not?

He didn’t really transfer. He graduated. And then went to another school for more education while still having eligibility to play football
