LSU Injuries over the past few years (Moffit)

It seems that at some point or another a lot of our players battle through injury.
My observable is that a lot of ACL tears come from the body not having a lot of time to adjust/heal from being over worked.
As someone who has a little background in this field, you look at the following for example:
Fournette
Guice
Andre Anthony
Chaisson
Just to name a few at our program.
Suffer through injury. The normal comment is that football is a tough sport. I agree but the root issue is training/recovery. I think Moffit’s system at LSU has a heavy focus on Training and teaching how to be more powerful and faster but there is an observable lack in recovery. Lack of recovery leads to the majority of sport related Orthopaedics injuries.
I think Moffit and the Orthopedic surgeon crew could benefit from some of the new technologies in recovery focused regimen.
Moffit is still the best, but there is always room for improvement.
And no, even if O sat out Chaisson, if his recovery is not on par it would have been a matter of time before he tore his ACL (Guice is an example).

Absolutely false. Chaisson hyperextended his leg causing a ACL tear. It happens at every major institution an unfortunately LSU suffers from this unfortunate situation. Why do you an others look for to pass blame to a coach who has been doing this for 30 plus years that has incredible success in molding young men.

How many of these injuries were ACL tears? Here I'll help you with the ones you named...
Fournette - ankle injury suffered in training camp
Guice - tweaked knee, not torn ACL
Anthony - fractured foot
Chaisson - torn ACL
To list a few others:
Lawrence - sprained ankle
Key - recovered from shoulder surgery
Malone - patellar tendon injury, not torn ACL
It's sports.. Injuries happen no matter how hard you train or what you do.

The body does not discriminate when it comes to location.
Generalizing that athletes get injured is, well, general.
Next level condition focuses a heavy amount on recovery.
I think the it’s interesting that our highest caliber players suffer injury.
Hasn’t Tyrann Matthieu been plagued w injury?
ACL or not, many injuries arise from poor training/recovery.
LSU’s training is tops in the country...big opportunity to focus on recovery.
That looks like as much time on stretching, foam rolling, massage therapy...less cortisone shots, less toredol and any pain killers.
Muscle Agility/tightness testing vs strength and speed testing is a great indicator of what barriers the muscles hold.
Do we still focus on yoga like when Saban was here?
Eddie George’s Training is considered the stuff of legend and he taught himself without a trainer for example.

Moffit refuses to implement the cutting edge ACL strength program. Old bastard.
All the new fangled programs like Oregon are doing it.

so basically all these nfl players who keep going out for the season is bc they have been over worked. Of course 20 years ago they supposedly werent over worked though right. Its not just LSU moron. In fact, we prolly have had better luck than anyone with ACL injuries

Are you really blaming LSU/Moffit for injuries he’s sustained years after leaving LSU?
He tore his ACL/MCL in December 2013, over a year after being kicked off the team. And another ACL tear in December 2015. Guice tore his ACL 8 months after leaving LSU.

i have to agree with what another poster said. I'm glad they didn't have that acl thing around when I was younger. With all the sports I played I would have for sure blown mine out.

It does seem like LSU has had more early injuries than other teams for many years. Wondering if it conditioning problems

Injuries happen. Moffit is an expert in his field. You don’t think he understands that players need to recover? Training programs ultimately help prevent unjuries. He probably knows these concepts much better than anyone. Being a strength coach isn’t just about teaching how to power clean. They also have to have a good understanding of the human body to help prevent and rehabilitate injury. Chaisson got hurt. It happens, and I feel terrible for him. But, this isn’t Maryland where beating players. Moffit is one of the most respected in his field for a reason.

Yes or No: are you actually in Moffit's workouts and witnessing or are you just armchair quarterbacking?
If yes, then please continue. If no, please stop.
