I know that injuries accumulate during the season but DAMN, LSU seems to have more than their share. Opinions as to why?

They arent getting hurt on purpose. Injuries cant really be controlled, they are inevitable.

Strength and Conditioning Program has fallen behind the times. This needs to be addressed in the off season.

I don’t think LSU’s injuries are anymore than any other team at this point in the year.

Take a look at Ga. and Bama for starters. I feel pretty confident that their combined injury list won't compare to LSU.

They also haven't played as tough of a schedule as LSU.

The coaches aren't going to say it, but they are probably resting guys who are dinged up rather than really being injured. It's a terribly violent sport. The injuries that cost a player to miss a game or two are going to happen every week. If you play a patsy you're going to get more, because you're not going to risk an injured player in a rent-a-win.

Bama lost a couple LBs in the LSU game last year and they lost a couple LBs before the season started

They just have such great depth that it doesn't hurt them as much when they lose 1 or 2 guys

Our defense suffered greatly with the loss of Phillips in the UF game for example

Lsu has been lucky really this year with injuries. They lost Chaisson early but everybody else has been nagging type of stuff or just a few weeks.

Sprained ankles and hamstring type injuries happen.

Citation needed.

Doesn't seem like LSU has any more injuries than your average team.

Ankles being rolled up on has nothing to do with strength and conditioning. Its football.

As another poster alluded to, the reason Bama and Georgia don't appear to be beset by the season toll is that they have depth that we do not. It will just take some time to build up that depth, including convincing some of the impatient juniors and RS sophs that running to the NFL a year too early is not the right call.

Bama lists 10 major injuries, we have 11.

This is exactly why I would bet a Stan Lee inheritance on Rice +44.

Well, one factor, albeit a secondary one is that our starters are having to play all 4 qtrs because we face comebacks or deficits every 3rd qtr (except OM).

Starters are more recognizable names + more minutes on field + 4th qtr minutes (fatigue) = more recognizable injuries

Uhhh you'd be quite wrong. Pretty sure Bama lost 3 linebackers for the season, has Hurts and Tua not at 100% and lost some DBs as well.

They recruit so goddamn well it doesn't matter as much.

this is it. college football used to be 10 games; now we are at 13 (or more. some players that are nicked play but Orgeron strategically sits out some depending on the game.
