Former LSU defensive back and current ESPN NFL analyst Ryan Clark took to Twitter on Saturday night to send a message to Texas head coach Tom Herman, thanking him for picking the Longhorns over the Tigers back in November 2016. The two schools were both hiring coaches and LSU went with current head coach Ed Orgeron after Herman declined an offer to take over the SEC program when he was at Houston.

"As a LSU alum I would like to thank you Tom Herman," Clark wrote in the tweet. "A few years back you made the decision I never knew I wanted you to make. You chose Texas & for that I am grateful."

quote:

As for LSU's coach, it's easy to point to how he feels. Orgeron has stayed the course, saying it's never going to be about him. After LSU's matchup with Texas in Austin earlier this year, in which LSU won 45-38, Orgeron once again said the game wasn't about him beating the coach that'll be linked to him back when the Tigers hired him after his interim stint.

"Zero. This will never be about me, this is about our team," Orgeron said. "I'm just glad we won, man."

You can beat up Herman if you want but without him their is no Burrow.
If Herman doesn't recruit him to Ohio State who knows where he lands but it's hard to see it being LSU.

Agreed, Tom Herman is a real good assistant coach.

If "ifs and buts were fruit and nuts, everyday would be like Christmas". That is a ponderous way to say something "good" about Hermann.

Well in that case, should we also thank Burrows great grandmother? I mean, without her, Burrow wouldn't even exist.

It’s there.

Herman may have scouted him, but CUM offered him and eventually agreed to give us his spilled (unused) seed.

It is ironic that the one great decision made by Alleva in 10 years was due to his cowardice.

Jimbo isn’t a good enough coach to have his surname spelled correctly.
