Queen played well against bama. Wasn't much dropoff. I trust queen and Phillips in the middle. Outside will be significantly improved.

Lb might be better than last year.

Divinity, Phillips, queen, chiasson

White will be difficult to replace, but our pass rush should be better.

Texas at #35 tells you everything you need to know about voters wanting Texas to be “back” so bad.

Texas had 8 SRs starting on defense last year and lost their top RB, WR and LT on offense.

With all that said, Texas will be ranked higher than LSU when we head to Austin week 2.

Personally, I love it.

All this.

You have to hope that Chaisson is suck an upgrade that it overall makes up for the downgrade from White to Queen.

I like Queen too, but obviously white is a huge talent and played.

Doubtful. Either way, Herman finished with a top 5 recruiting class, so they have some young talent to mix in.

Well supposedly, the poll took this into account.

We will be favored in 11 of 12 games. 11-1 is most certainly the bar.

I think we beat a UT team that's still in a rebuild this year - or we should. I think it gets blown out of proportion like we just beat Clemson or something. I think we drop games to Alabama and either Texas A&M or Florida again. Then, in 2020 - I think UT comes into Tiger Stadium and gives us a terrible awakening.

It did. It showed that he's done more with less - as his on field accomplishments led to a conference title game appearance and a Sugar Bowl victory against a team that finished higher in the SEC than we did.

I would say it seems high if we didn’t get such a good recruiting class to fill our weak spots. LB core is probably biggest question mark? But then it’s Aranda....

Not sure if you mean returning LBs or our recruiting class. Phillips, Queen and Baskerville give us a really good ILB rotation and if Taylor comes back we are even better. OLB we have Chaisson and Divinity and RS guys like Travez Moore and Jarell Cherry who the coaches really like.

The 2019 class has #2 (5 star) OLB in the country Marcel Brooks, top LB from LA (4 star) Donte Starks, Devonta Lee who will likely become a OLB/S, and McCallum who led the Bama/MS all-star game in tackles. Even Bama fans were salivating over this kid.

Well, in 2020 we will have a new QB. That will certainly be a question mark. Offense better be much improved in 2019 for us to have any hope in 2020.

And also a team we beat on the field.

Given the schedule, the talent on this team, what would be the bar for you?

Gotta throw in the "this is the bar" or "no excuses" thing. Spoken like a true O hater. Can't just say we have a lot of experience and talent coming back and you are excited about the chance at a great season.

Who said anything about hating Orgeron? If you believe that LSU will finish 11-1, doesn't that mean you have faith in the coaching staff as well to get this done?

So you agree that O has turned the program around to the point of expecting the second best regular season in the last 60 years? I'd say that's exactly what you are saying. Speaks volumes about what O has accomplished.

Agreed. Coach O has his guys and his coaches in there now, I expect him to succeed, just like he expects of himself. Anything less than 11 regular season wins will be a disappointment.
