I know the home and homes don’t make as much money as the neutral site games but dammit can we stop selling out every part of college football.

Agree. As a fan I'm more excited about trips to Austin (next season) and the Rose Bowl (to play UCLA) than I would ever be about going to Houston, Orlando, Dallas and even NOLA. The college town/on-campus atmosphere for a big game is part of what makes college football great. It's what brings us back to our college towns in the fall long after we've left school.

That said, I don't see the neutral site games going anywhere anytime soon. In addition the money made (without the expense of operating a home game), I don't think the coaches want home and homes because that road game creates a bigger opportunity for a loss. And fans today don't give a shite that a HC had the balls to go out and play a big time opponent at their place. They only care about the record. 10-2 vs. a cupcake schedule gets a coach a raise. 8-4 vs. a brutal schedule gets a coach fired. Plus, one loss can knock you out of playoff contention. A 10-2 SEC team with losses to say FSU and UGA likely gets left out of the playoffs in favor of a 11-1 team from another conference who played a weaker schedule.

Just ask 2018 Auburn. 10-2 SEC West champ with losses to LSU and @ Clemson. Swap out Clemson for a weaker opponent and 11-1 Auburn has better argument. They didn't get rewarded to having the stones to play @ Clemson. It's ONLY boost if you win (ala Oklahoma at OSU). Until the playoffs are expanded, the risk of a home-and-home doesn't outweigh the reward.

what a kick in the balls to season ticket holders. should be a home and home series.

But from the standpoint of being a destination city to visit for a sporting event? New Orleans beats those cities (and most others) hands down. N.O. has great and unique food that you can’t get in most other cities, it has a great night life to suit just about all styles and personalities, it has historical and cultural attractions, among many other things. Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, and even San Antonio (which is a great city in its own right) don’t even come close.

I would think New Orleans would be a perfect place to have a kickoff game but there's also Decadence that weekend. Seemed to work out last year. A new stadium would be nice but the location right now cannot be beat.

What should be mandatory is Power 5 should only be allowed to play Power 5.

Except for that Superbowl in four or five years.

I don't need a stadium to be an "attraction". The dome is great and there isn't a facility in the country that can have a major game in a better location for logistics, hotels, restaurants, party venues, and bars.

I really wish they would get rid of these games and just do home/home.

That’s because outside of the party crowd, nobody wants to visit Nola for a college game. The stadium is outdated as hell and dirty, the city isn’t totally safe, the hotels are over priced, there’s a limited number of rooms for big events. Nola just can’t compare to DFW or ATL. Those are powerhouse cities in the south and nationwide.

LSU-Florida State in Orlando 2022?I’d rather play them in Miami to reestablish our brand in that area again. Orlando will be a defacto home game for them.
Never agree to Orlando, FL as a opening site. Nothing is gained by this period. Except the fat greedy board at LSU gets more TV monies in their pockets.

So THIS is a neutral site to you? You need a geography lesson.

I hope this happens! This would be huge for the two programs! Helps our recruiting out east too! Florida is such a competitive state to recruit. I love it

Wont ever go back to that stadium. Its a clone of the old orange bowl, except 2 tires missing, instead of 4 when parked

in the old days, before every game was on TV, that might make sense.

But now, every kid in Miami knows who we are, so actually playing in a city doesn't really make much difference.

FSU-LSU in Atlanta for the kickoff makes more sense to me. Even if it’s the Sunday or Monday night game

Yes it does. A kid physically seeing a team and all they bring puts a picture in their head that lasts.

you think all the guys we're recruiting in Miami actually go see our game live? A few maybe, but a low percentage.
