LSU already is on the verge of enjoying the net-positive impact of Austin Thomas’ return to the bayou. The Tigers’ football program is targeting Kansas personnel lead Will Redmond, envisioning a director of personnel strategy-type of role in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for Ed Orgeron’s Tigers program sources tell FootballScoop. Redmond’s title, per sources, will be director of personnel research and strategy.

Guessing just another scout and roster management person.

Can't have too many of those.

Kansas? Tell me that's a basketball hire or someone meant to type Alabama or Clemson and slipped and typed Kansas instead.

I know, they meant to type Kansas City Chiefs. Ok, it's cool now.

Do you think because a person works for a bad football program that they are somehow tainted or responsible for that bad football program? Do you not think talented individuals can work for shitty companies?

thorough analysis of social media accounts for all football personnel (coaches, players, staff) and known associates

This is my guess

As many hires as the FB staff made, we shouldn't ever get stopped offensively and never give up a yard on defense

It means that in addition to having a 27 person support staff underneath him that includes:

Assistant AD for Football Operations
Special Assistant to the Head Coach
Assistant Director of Operations
Coordinator of Football Operations
Coordinator of Defensive Operations
Coordinator of Offensive Operations
Associate AD/Football Recruiting and Alumni Relations
Assistant Director of Recruiting Operations
Coordinator of Football Recruiting
Director of Player Development
Assistant Director of Player Personnel
Coordinator of Football Relations
13 Analysts
2 Senior Consultants

Austin Thomas still needs more help making sure things are organized and planned properly.

The wins were not showing up in the W/L column yet for Les at Kansas, but you could see competitive product on the field if you watched the games. Much better than Kansas before he got there. One of the things that was notable was the roster transformation that was underway particularly at the skill positions and the defensive backfield. If this Will Redmond guy was part of identifying the talent to transform the roster, then sure, bring him in. That was the one thing you could see real progress in with the Jayhawks.

Austin Thomas sure gets paid a lot of $$$ to hire other people to do the work he's supposed to do.

Why would you care how much he makes or who he hires?

I think LSU could do a hell of a lot better than a completely doomed bottom feeder school that has suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked for a while now. No one worth a shite works at an absolute black hole of a program like that.

Kansas hired Les Miles when NO ONE else would or should hire him. And we're hiring someone on that dumbfrick's staff?

To quote Lt. Vincent Hanna in Heat, "fricking great. CatfishJohn, what's wrong with you? You drag me here, waste my time like this. You saw a guy at Kansas that's scout? Well I am....OVERfrickINGwhelmed."

You're just a moron. No point in conversing or arguing with stupid people. They'll just bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Ad hominem attack and a downvote is the hallmark of a weak mind that can't come up with one teeny tiny counterpoint.

I say LSU can find and hire better talent than anyone that works at Kansas. Kansas is unequivocally horrible. demonstrably, abysmally terrible.

You wouldn't look to Kansas for guys to transfer in. So why would you look to hire a coach that brought shoddy subpar players like that into the program?

Redmond, who led MTSU’s personnel department before Kansas, played a major role in a 2021 Jayhawks recruiting class that was ranked third by 247Sports in the Big 12 behind Oklahoma and Texas.

Seems like an upward trend.
