This feels like one of those teams.

Maybe, but after week one, I don't think they are under the radar anylonger

The defense should be good enough to only allow a TD and a FG/game
This team can make playoffs if offense can score 10-17 points every game

I could see this, analagous to the Jerry Stovall 1982 team. This team was full of talent and surprises, the emergence of the Dalton and James Gang and a whole galaxy of talent on both lines. It was the year we obliterated Alabama in Birmingham, leading Bryant to retire.
However, like Jerry Stovall, and Stovall too had a "guru" named Mack Brown, leading the offense. Stay with me here, Mack was in great demand and took a head coaching job, at of all places, Appalachian State, eventually leading him down a path of success (ahem, this program's guru is on the defensive side.) I dare say he is coveted too.
Well, the talent was proliferate but the HC was just not HC material.
The comparison is that LSU flew under the radar and took teams by surrprise. It was a time when the media information flow was far less than what it is today. So I don't think we'll remain a "secret" very long, if we blow up on folks. We have a road trip to Auburn, not to mention the VERY hi-profile operner with the Miami. So...........
I think the scenarios are remarkably analogous and I do believe O and Alleva will.....................(fill in the blank)

If 8 equals 10 any coach can be successful. Does 6 equal 8?
New special Ed math?

I have no idea where yall get this shite from.
LSU had nothing to do with Bryants retirement. Nothing. I've seen people say he retired following the game. Wrong.
From Wikipedia:
quote:
Bear Bryant Announces His Retirement in 1982. On December 15, 1982, Alabama's legendary head coach Paul "Bear" Bryant announced his retirement from coaching.
Some fantasy conjured up to think Bryant actually cared what LSu did. There was a school he was obsessed with. LSU wasn't it. I never heard him publicly speak of LSU unless that was the next game.

I think we win em all this year. They all sleeping on us for real, and this time, we have a balanced team and depth at every position.

I don't know if 8 equals 10 or 6 equals 8. All I know for certain is 9 equals 11.
The rant told me this so it must be true.

the bare was obsessed enough with LSU that he made sure bama played them every year the week after the LSU/ole miss game.

TT, I watched that game and Bear's presser right after. What he said was something like"This is a young man's game and I don't think I will hang around". He formerly announced his retirement a few weeks later and died soon thereafter. Many thought the LSU beating was the straw that broke the camel's back.

At some point we’re gonna have to outscore someone. Most likely UGA. As good as our defense is going to be, a kid like Fromm is gonna most likely put up 35 points. UGA pretty much scored at will in a national championship game against a Saban coached defense that had time to prepare.
