It's lazy fandom...simple as that. I get it in football, and I do understand it to a point in basketball considering the incoming recruiting class. But, the amount of posts that I see talking about next season while in the middle of a good season is just sluggish.

For those posting this wishful thinking, I urge you to watch a string of games. For example, we'll take the last 4 games. LSU could have easily won 3-of-4 but only won one game. Going into the Bama game, this team was averaging over 80 points per game but went cold shooting for 3 consecutive games. What I'd like you to do is to compare any of the last 4 games to the previous 4 seasons (that includes a tourney run). What kept us in those 3 repeated loses was coaching...something we haven't had in a very long time.

Again, I ask that you chill out with your "we'll get 'em next year" conclusive thinking and enjoy this season. It's for your own good. You'll learn the game better and become less of a bandwagon fan.

FTR, the point of this isn't to say that I'm a better fan than you. It's to make you a better fan of the game.

It's entirely possible for people to be excited about next year while also enjoying this season.

For me, I find the little things I see during the current season that give me hope and try to extrapolate that to next year.

I enjoy the moment but hope we do all the "ifs" in the next season.

Talent-wise this team is horrible. We have almost no talent. Teams are guarding us five feet from the 3 point line bc we have no size inside or for driving to the rim. We get horribly destroyed on rebounds every single game against SEC competition. This team has been coached incredibly to use the few talents they have to generate some offense and defense and somehow be successful. But the ceiling for this team just isn’t very high. Next year we’ll actually have the talent for the ceiling to be as high as we want

My point being we are losing these games bc teams have adjusted to our game, and we can only win one or two ways. Realistic fans can see that we are limited

You have a point.

For example, I’m the biggest Will Wade advocate around. I’m excited about our recruiting class.

But you have “next year is the promised land” fans thinking we are going to be invincible.

Look at Vanderbilt’s incoming class. We’re not the only ones with a good haul for 2018-2019.

A realistic goal for us next year is to make the NCAA Tournament.

Good point, complaining and whining about EVERYTHING takes so much energy.
