7 for 50 would be .140.

7 for 53 is .132.

He said “glad Cabrera is doing well”

Cabrera isn’t hitting .132 he is hitting .294

Scuba, what’s the story here? Seems like that was the same number innings pitched as last time you posted. Any reason he isn’t getting more?

Costello's stat line hasn't changed since two weeks ago. I don't know if it wasn't updated or if he hasn't pitched.

The only game Costello appeared in was June 29 against Kalamazoo according to Kokomo's web site.

I hope they throw Willis into the fire and either let him fail or succeed. Normally I’m against that, but Willis is way to talented. I firmly believe there is no way he doesn’t become a stud. Even if he starts the season struggling he would eventually figure it out and be one of the biggest weapons this team has at the plate, if not the biggest.

And yet Mainieri will still trot his arse out as a starter next year

That won't be decided till after fall and spring scrimmages. I think all infield positions are up for grabs. The only positions I think are secure are right and center field. Garza will be hard to beat out at catcher as well.

It is really amazing to me just how poor of a hitter he is, especially as a coach’s son.

He's not on their roster anymore, so I guess he was shut down for the summer. I'm hoping it's not injury related, but we won't hear anything about until, at the earliest, Mainieri's next media availability where he introduces the new signing class.

For those interested in such things, we are currently at 37/35 on the roster based on publicly available information.

He has to be a starter to open the season, IMO. Either in LF or DH. I still wouldn't mind him getting a shot at 3rd base, but it looks like this summer they have him focusing on OF and 1B. But since him and Beloso both hit LH, there isn't really a platoon opportunity at 1B. And both guys should be in the line up as much as possible.

PP, is Louis Coleman out of baseball?

He was not listed in the recent "Louisiana Players in Professional Baseball" column in the Advocate whereas he was listed on a AAA team two weeks earlier.

He has potential as a good hitter, but what other tools does he have?

Right now he’s a DH type and his Summer stats are good.

Is he playing OF? I hope so, he needs to learn a position in college.

The problem last year were the guys given chances to beat Hughes out couldn’t.

Neither Dugas or Bianco could solidify themselves at third, and PM preferred Reid at first.

It was a mess.
