Combined they are hitting .272. Not great but, not awful. Gunter has a WHIP of 1.61. Again not great but, not awful.

Stats aren’t necessarily exciting as a whole but considering there is a new hitting coach on staff I’d say their is some room for optimism.

Hughes finally with an extra base hit. At least it wasn’t a full year. Is there video?

Glad to see DiGiacamo turn it around.

Any idea what his strikeouts and walk numbers look like?

Toups only had like a .250 average but almost half his hits were for extra bases and he he had a .500 OBP. So his OPS was over .900.

Willis, Doughty, and Toups all had an ISO over .200 and OPS over .900.

Willis, Toups, the Doughtys, and Garza are all done for the summer. Costello and Kaminer shut it down after one appearance. Zack Mathis is playing for Wareham in the cape right now. I think Zach Arnold's season is done but not sure.

It's funny that no matter how good some of these guys look in these threads, the narrative still turns to shitting on Hughes.

Does anyone know how the Ripken league compares to Cape Cod?

Cape Cod is the top tier. But they don't take incoming freshmen like some leagues do. Cal Ripken league is probably in the third tier of leagues, which isn't bad. Cape Cod is the only first tier league.

Northwoods and California league probably in the 2nd tier.

Perfect Game, Alaska, cal ripken, prospect, great lakes all in the third tier with a few others.

Why don't you go ahead and say something positive about him continuing to hit below .200 if you don't want to shite on him.

No one wants him to continue to suck, but it's something everyone is going to look at, his stats that is, b/c we want to see the improvement so he can be a quality starter for us.

Don't care under CPM we will be a top 15 team, go deep in the SEC tourney, and get smoked in super regionals, or barely make it to Omaha and smoked there. He just doesn't have "IT" :snoozer: :snoozer:

Gio's BB/K is 2/15. I'd like to see an improvement in this area this spring to increase his on base percentage.
