So, baseball players, as expected, are getting a year of eligibility back. The most likely scenario here is getting rid of the 27 players on scholarship cap (for one year) and getting rid of the 25% minimum rule (for one year). We’ll see what the
@NCAA
decides

Another coach:
“This is going to be a s**t show from a roster perspective. If they lift off the roster cap and don’t limit anything, there will be teams out there with 60 players in the fall”
per Kendall Rogers

This is going to be crazy. Between this and the draft probably happening with so much less info than normal, you could see some very crowded rosters.

Yeah, next year will not have the typical amount of parity if this is true

the NCAA seems disorganized as usual....they make a call without thinking of the ramifications of it, then to fix some of those they make another call without thinking of the ramifications of that.
They plug a hole that creates 3 more leaks and so on

My one hope of what comes out of this is consistent increased scholarships for baseball. 11.7 is ridiculous

Wonder if they would consider having freshmen only and varsity teams for a year?

Cabrera and Henry are probably still gone, though, huh?

Absolutely.
I do hope that one of the things they allow for is more fall games that don't count against the 56 game limit.
Give the coaches more time to evaluate the players, maybe help the rosters sort themselves out a little better.

And probably Garza, Mathis, maybe Labas, maybe Storz.
My amateur opinion is that the draft will be more college heavy due to more info available on those guys. I could be way off base though.

100%

You think Mathis is going high in the draft?
And I agree this is going to skew every roster next year. The only guys I see leaving are Cabrera, Henry, Fontenot and maybe Storz.
Garza is a guy that’s hit well in 4 weeks of 1.25 years.
With the added year of eligibility do juniors count as juniors next year? This could throw a giant wrench of “I still have 2 more years of eligibility left, give me the number I want or I’m coming back to college”

I don't think there are going to be decisions made solely on draft position. Storz and Garza are both older for their class. They're the age of seniors right now. Maybe Mathis sticks around, but he was already drafted once and didn't really do that much negative to hurt his stock.
There are still some JUCO leagues playing right now, weirdly. So I guess technically scouts may still have some guys to watch.
I have a feeling this will spell the end of Michael Lagarrigue's LSU career which means he will finish with an ERA of infinity.

Next year definitely was gonna be our year...when you look at experience. That would seem to be in our advantage...but if we aren’t gonna play games...that inexperience won’t improve.
