LSU Baseball Purple & Gold World Series pitching and guest coaches starting tonight

The P&G World Series, which concludes the fall practices for the baseball team, begins tonight at Alex Box Stadium.

Guest coaches for the Gold team will be Manager Sean Ochinko (catcher/first baseman, 2007-09) and he will be assisted by Ryan Schimpf (infielder, 2007-09), Andrew Stevenson (outfielder, 2013-15), Leon Landry (outfielder (2008-10) and Anthony Ranaudo (pitcher, 2008-10).

Guest coaches for the Purple team will be Manager Kramer Robertson (infielder, 2014-17), and he will be assisted by Cole Freeman (infielder, 2016-17), Jared Poche’ (pitcher, 2014-17), Greg Deichmann (outfielder, 2015-17) and Alex Lange (pitcher, 2015-17).

Robertson and Lange are back in school with plans to graduate in December, with Poche, Deichmann and Freeman already having degrees.

Starting pitcher for tonight's 6:30 PM first game for the Gold team will be sophomore right-hander Todd Peterson. The Purple team will start freshman right-hander AJ Labas.

For game two at 6:30 PM Thursday night the starting pitcher will be right-hander Ma’Khail Hilliard versus Purple junior right-hander Caleb Gilbert.

For game three on Friday night starting at 7 PM with be Gold freshman right-hander Devin Fontenot and Purple junior right-hander Cameron Sanders.

Sophomore right-hander Zack Hess will not pitch during the P&G WS.

All three games will be six innings, and they are open to the public with free admission.
