So you guys live in Dallas & are not used to driving a little ? Really ? Must be in the dummy crowd.
In DFW for a few weeks - I’m in - Dallas, FtWorth, Denton - really don’t care.

The colony is way the F away from Dallas...I'm sure there is plenty of alumni up there but damn thats a good 25 miles. And when you plan on taking uber it is a consideration.

Last year it was at the Grenada on Greenville, that was a great spot for it.

I really don't get why the football watch parties are never at a good Dallas(actual Dallas address) bar either. Other schools have watch parties all over uptown/lower greenville and they look awesome.

LSU should have a tight spot as well

Not to go out and have a few beers. I can walk or ride my bike to most places IN DALLAS but do take the truck when the weather is shitty. But about 10 minutes is all I have to drive to go anywhere worth while.

Moving back to the Dallas area in June after being away 8 years. Looking forward to this next year.

It is not just the distance, a lot of driving after a few brews w the attitude of cops in Dallas. It is a 45 minute drive from there to my home in No. Dallas. Hope everyone has a good time.

Yea I'm used to driving a little, but the Colony is really far. Uptown Dallas to the Colony is the same distance as downtown Nola to Mandeville, without traffic. I'm certainly going to drink at a crawfish boil held at a bar, so I wouldn't plan on driving. An Uber to the Colony and back to Dallas is outrageous. Now try to argue how it is a good location for the Dallas Alumni Event.

Eastwood's Bar Uptown on McKinney turned into an "unofficial" LSU watch bar last year. They put the games on the TV's, played the game sound over the speakers, flew an LSU flag and gave all LSU fans discounts. The owners are awesome. There were always at least 30-40 LSU people there. It was insane for the Alabama game. I heard they tried to donate money to the Alumni Association and make it an official bar, but the AA kept ignoring them.

I have also taken Eastwood's as my official look-in place.
For many years we had ONE CONSOLIDATED place and it was great...except for those outside Dallas who had a valid gripe regarding distance.

I think at times we have gone too far towards "too many" places and the energy is not the same.

Eastwoods is a good alternative and my go-to, but there should be something in between lower-greenville (official place) / Frisco.

Eastwoods even showed the second CWS game against OSU that we won and had the sound on and everything. And if I remember correctly, had a crawfish boil/watch party for the spring game last year. Eastwoods would be my vote.

FYI, I'm not trying to bitch about the northern location, I think it's great we have this event every year, but a big crowd would show up if it was in Dallas. I have bought tickets in advance multiple times (if it's the same boil I'm thinking of), and haven't shown up because of the commute.

From what I remember of that day, it was a fun day.

How many of you attended? Thoughts on event?

I’m a big fan of Cajun crawfish Co.....big fan. That being said, the crawfish I got were not good. For some reason the meat was really dark when I peeled them and mine were cooked way too long or sat in the cooler too long. The tails just disentigrated when I peeled them. Did I just get a bad batch?

I remember watching the LSU v Wisconsin basketball game at Ben's Half yard in 2000. I was new to town and homesick. There were a ton of LSU alumni there and it really made me feel like back in Baton Rouge for a night.

Is that place still open?

Cajun crawfish company has really gone down the last few years. Small, dirty crawfish for premium price.
