The powers-that-be saw what Tech did to LSU in BR this year and there is no way in hell they are going to Shreveport or N. Louisiana and risk Tech beating LSU. You saw the wave of the future this year with Tech almost handling LSU and within 15-20 years Tech will eclipse LSU as the flagship program in the state. Yeah I said it.

Sadly, you believe this. You would get along great with ULL fans.

I'm sure you have to be elated how Tech built on their bowl appearance from last season. 4-8 overall and 3-5 in the WAC.

The real questions are:

Why doesn't Tech play more games at Independance Stadium? If they ever hope to reach their dream of a Conference USA bid, then they need to embrace Shreveport as their home-away-from-home. As shitty as Independance Stadium is, it's not bad when compared to other CUSA Stadiums. And Shreveport is a good sized city.

And, why doesn't Tech play ULM? Tech and ULM are light years closer to being equal than LSU and Tech. A Tech vs. ULM game at Independance Stadium would be a nice draw.

If LSU played Tulane in New Orleans, they could make one trip to Shreveport to play La Tech!

Tulane is located in New Orleans. The Super Dome is in New orleans.
LaTech is located in Ruston. Now if Ruston had a 70,000+ seat stadium LSU might consider it.
Or of Shreveport had a 70,000+ seat stadium.
I'm not surprised that the news hasn't trickled all the way down to Dutchtown, but LSU has cancelled the Tulane series.

Tech fans really believe that they are going to be the next Boise State. When you ask them what will happen when Dooley bolts for a better job, they get all huffy and give some garbage response.

They are more hung up on Terry Bradshaw and Tim Rattay than Bama fans are on the Bear.

It's just a matter of time. LSU fans have nothing to fear but may want to realize that they will be sharing the stage with Dawg Nation in the coming years.

They really do believe Dooley is there for the long haul. Why pass up millions and millions and the prestige of an SEC program when you can live in Ruston and coach a middle tier WAC team.

Just how in the hell are they supposed to do that? Play LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, UF, and Alabama every year for 5 years in a row and put the money in a big fat CD that accrues some big time interest....then maybe they could add 60,000 seats in Joe IA stadium...build some big time practice facilities...gin up some rich alumni to start the equivalent of the TAF (the BAF!)....

...if and only IF they do ALL of the above would they have a PRAYER in hell to compete with LSU on a regular basis. AND in those circumstances...they'd still be NO flagship.

This is some crazy-arse delusional crap.

TECH's athletic budget is pauper in status compared to LSU and all big time programs.

LTU's football budget...2.9 MILLION! LINK

LSU's football budget...FORTY that's right 40 MILLION!!!!

STOP!!!!

Do not encourage Tech fans by confronting them with facts. I have learned. It's like putting out fire with gasoline. Your heart is the only thing that will suffer.

Ignore them.

Dooley sucks anyways. He better take the best job offered to him the second it is because if he sticks around at La Tech for much longer no one will want him at a bigger school.

Now, to be fair, they do have to compete with hunting season. I'm not joking, that's one of the excuses I've heard many many times. So many of their fans are out hunting. That's why they don't sell out.
