I don't have two trailers. Don't know why you're asking me this.

I was going to buy a trailer for 2011, that has been nixed. Might buy a bread truck, but I doubt it.

Mudd has about 100 or so at his tailgate, IIRC.

We did one in ATL this year for about 150 and I barely had enough room for a scaled down version in one 5x8.

It was me, but downsizing to 1. They both are small trailers. One is a tv trailer where one awning opens up a flat screen is inside. Also is used for storage for 5 tents, speaker system, and a larger flat screen tv.

The other trailer is for tables, beer pong tables, volleyball poles, cornhole boards, and cooking gear (whatever we decide to do out of: cajun microwave, 30 gal cast iron pot, grill, smoker, boiling pots)

Tailgates avg about 120 people, minimum 5-6 kegs. It will be downsized to about 60 people.

That is 7-8.4 12 oz beers per person in attendance. Are you sure about that number?

No, seriously, shut the frick up.

Like a savings account, right?

Nah...that would be too simple. We're talking about $1.7 Million from a group that has an operating budget far exceeding that.

And I've never once opposed charging, just the manner and the mechanisms for which it is being done.

They already turn over their profit to the university, and they're carrying a ton of debt.

This is a dumb myth that is mostly propagated by people who have never been to a university. Instead, they simply paint all colleges with a wide brush as liberals.

For instance, I will not be purchasing 2011 Basketball Season Tickets as I had once planned nor will I up my TAF, LSU Foundation, and LSU Alumni Association contributions as planned in 2011 as well. I'm certain I'm not the only one.

For an AD with a heavy Business background, Alleva missed the boat here.

If all of your plans only added up to $750 anyway, doesn't sound like LSU is missing much. Seems like you are saying you only had $X budgeted to spend on LSU related expenses, so if you are only redirecting those expenditures, then how has LSU been negatively impacted?

Exactly. Also, you are one of the few people that will do that. Most will budget the $20-$40 by taking it from discretionary spending that is NOT related to LSU, in which case LSU would be positively impacted, if anything.

Actually, a lot of people are just going to park further away from the stadium and walk. What people seemingly fail to understand is that LSU football is first and foremost a collegiate event. There are many students at LSU who don't have the luxury of parents with six figure incomes to supplement their extra-curricular activity funds. I know many fans, especially on this site think that college football is an event for everyone, and I agree. What I'm saying is that, just because the stadium seats 90,000+ and most of those people are not in college, doesn't mean that they aren't there to watch a college function, because they are. Many of us on this board might not be familiar with the recent increases in student fees, but this fee should at the very least not apply to students.

I never said LSU was going to be negatively impacted. I'm talking substitution not additional investment.

I've said I'm going to pay it more than once, I just disagree with the process in which this is going to occur.

If I wanted to "whine" about it, I'd be going off on Alleva, Verge, Herb, et. al with no reasoning behind such. I've also done more with the situation than discuss it here. This is just an easy mechanism to discuss among other people who will be affected either positively or negatively.
