Everyone else good with letting Schmidt finish this thing? I feel like he has found himself. Building confidence and could really turn into a solid arm for us if he can build on this

Anyone blaming anyone other than Brown there is out of touch with reality. There is zero reason for Brown to not be able to at least put a bunt in the fricking ground. That is little league bull shite that he fricked that up.
It was a high fastball, not an easy pitch to get down. In fact, in a normal sacrifice situation (not a suicide squeeze) he would be expected to not even attempt to bunt that pitch.

I agree. I love Jay as a coach but he needs to lay off the suicide squeeze so much. It bites LSU in the butt more than it has worked

Just a reminder that some yahoo earlier made a thread and said that Schmidt had been figured out in college and was very hittable

That actually crossed my mind, too.

Luckily he's not allowed to own dogs any more after Mizz.

Fun fact - Jake brown has zero successful sacrifice hits in his career here

Why try that

If this game recalibrates Schmidt, it'll be worth the price of admission.

With the extra day of rest I still think you could bring him out Sunday for some innings if needed.

Schmidt needs to get ready for the weekend.

Faced 10 batters. 7 Ks, 2 groundouts only 1 walk

need to see it again, but that pitch was thrown very high on purpose and he had no option but to try and bunt it.
he damn near dropped down to one knee and knelt to bunt that. So, yeah. It was "high" when you consider that he was almost kneeling.
