I think we get it together on Defense. Offensive we struggle early but pull away in the fourth.

State isn’t good this season.

The real test and what everyone wants to see is performance against Florida, Ole Miss, Alabama and Texas A&M.

I thought this too in 2017 at the same exact game time. You've gotta get up early and take the annoying rattle of cow bells out of the equation or the outcome could be similar

I hope so. But man, I sense a REAL slow start. LSU falls behind early and struggles for the win.

We are better defensively this season but not as good offensively

If LSU rushes 3 drops 8 they will win by 10+ if they play their normal defense it could be a high scoring game like last year.

State is as good as they typically are. The run defense is very good, and the LSU rushing attack is 13th in the SEC. LSU will have to throw to hopefully set up the run. I don't see much success running straight at the State defense.

On the flip side, can LSU solve the State passing game? I would hope so, but they can't afford complete busts in coverage we've seen too often.

It's an important game for LSU, and a huge game for Orgeron. It's probably the easiest conference game on the schedule. Lose it, and things could get ugly.

LSU wins this one. Gets momentum going. Auburn at 8 PM? They’re screwed. I don’t care how bad LSU is. It’s super rare that an SEC team not coached by Saban walks in there at 8 PM and wins.

They beat Auburn like you say but then still have to play Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss and Texas A&M…

I agree, LSU certainly scores in the 30’s, most likely in the 40’s. And I think the defense holds them to 21 points. If it was a night game I would say they hold them to 14, I’ll give State another TD just for the early start. LSU 36 MSU 21

Correct. So while I think a win against state and auburn would be nice the real test is those 4 games in my opinion.

We get Florida and A&M home. I feel good that we can win one of these. I’m much more worried about Arkansas than A&M. The hogs are legit. A&M is smoke and mirrors from their little 9-1 covid season. It’ll be apparent after Saturday when Arkansas steamrolls them.
