Hopefully shores settles down now
First inning is usually tough

Escaped with one run given up, now we score some runs. Word of the day: optimism.

That was unhittable

I think shores threw 2 breaking pitches for strikes that entire inning
Yea it’s pretty pathetic for a guy as talented as Shores

This. Yeskie gets a pass last year due to injuries, but we’ve got some studs in the pen who are not performing up to par.

Yeah, it’s totally the field’s fault.
Wtf?!

see Zach Cowan being a weekend starter soon replacing Shores
I live Cowan in the pen but we are definitely headed this direction
Guidry can't come back fast enough to help the pen

It’s a shame that our pitching will cost us the season, but I guess it is what it is in the first inning of our 6th SEC game. And SEC games 1 through 4 were probably fool’s gold.
A bit dramatic

Yeskie is doing for us what he did for Texas a&m - making us a team with one of the highest total number of pitches in the SEC.

All these guys on the mound look nervous as hell like it’s their first start ever
first start on the Road in the SEC, our staff is inexperienced in SEC play give it time.

We need to rock this dude he’s not very impressive. Nice stache though

I know many of you are thinking "BALL GAME!" But I'm hoping we can somehow climb out of this deep hole we're in.

He bobbled the ball.
So????
He was charging hard to try and catch it in the air and had to pull up at the last second when he saw he couldn't get to it and he kept the ball in front of him and didn't let it skip past him to the wall.
The bobble meant nothing at all, the hitter stayed at first base.

can we be patient with shores? He has plenty of skill; he just needs to find his stuff.
Problem is we have a whole staff minus 3 pitchers with this issue. There has to be a coaching issue to not have someone else mentally ready.

Weren’t they both for Strike 3 on his 2 Ks?

A lovely 34 pitch first inning. Meanwhile we have two, one pitch outs in the top.
