Its just a refusal to fight with 2 strikes. I know that they wanna be selective and only swing at strikes, but with 2 strikes, anything close

I think it was on his coaches show. He mentioned that these SEC umps like to ring the hitters up a little more than he is used to

Ted Williams had the best advice. Less than 2 strikes you swing at whatever pitch you like. Who cares if it’s a strike or a ball if you can drive it. With 2 strikes you protect the plate.

Loved his charge on it but I think it was his ball all the way and Thompson was backing him up.

He’s had some really bad luck in SEC play. He’s hit so many balls hard right at people this year.
