Or the other several beat down they put on teams better than BYU?
BYU's record was 9-4 last year. Not great but it's not terrible.
Here are the records of the teams that LSU beat after the coaching change.
Missouri: 4-8
Southern Miss.: 7-6
Old Miss.: 5-7
Arkansas: 7-6
A&M: 8-5
Louisville: 9-4
What teams, other than perhaps Louisville, are better than BYU in you opinion. Because I don't see any of those teams giving BYU a beat down on a regular basis.

Both team's recent history? You mean the beat down Lsu put on Louisville? Or the other several beat down they put on teams better than byu? I think the line will stay around 14-15
The line is all about public perception. Of coarse we LSU fans are confident. We have the talent and our team's weakest link (offense) is being addressed very well. However, from the outside looking in... we have a new and not so impressive HC coaching a team that lost more elite talent in the draft than most power five teams take over a decade to produce.
It's all good. It

Any LSU fan that thinks this game is a gimme ought look no further than Wisconsin last year. I was there.
LSU has more talent than BYU, but a lot of inexperience and BYU will have played a game.
Tigers win but it will be close.

I like our coaching staff in this game. Orgeron is a known commodity, though Aranda has been a solid addition to your staff. Sitake helped build Utah into a defensive powerhouse the past ten years, while Ed Lamb turned FCS Southern Utah from a doormat into a powerhouse within a few years of being there. Ty Detmer is simply a brilliant Xs and Os mind when it comes to offenses and QB's. He was kept around in the NFL as a mentor for the QBs, helping to mentor Brett Farve, Kurt Warner and even Steve Young (oddly enough). Lamb and Glford sent 4 guys to the NFL out of Southern Utah. Though I think Orgeron is a good fit at LSU due to his roots, I'm not sold on him as a HC yet and don't understimate the time it takes to install a new offense, even one as simple as a spread offense. It's going to take some time for things to gel in that regard

Lmao...are you trolling or serious. Did you see byu's schedule? Unbelievable that you are comparing an sec schedule to a team that barely played anyone in the top 25. Good god you are either major trolling or fricking retarded.

Long as you believe it. It's almost like you think byu is on the same level as Lsu. Good luck, you will seriously need it.

I was at that game too. Byu isn't close to Wisconsin. Where do you guys come from. Lsu has a huge talent advantage.

The same unimpressive head coach that skull dragged Louisville. LSU's offense will be improved, and they set records last year after O took over. The defense is in great hands in aranda. Lot of chicken littles. Mighty byu. I tell ya what. If byu beats Lsu or Lsu barely escapes, it will be a very long year for Lsu. When Lsu does smash them, the same people calling for a close game will say "it's just byu"

When you start calling Utah and southern Utah power houses, it is time to move on. Later.

Agreed I think the line a bit high but I think there is a reason. BYU will move the ball some but I think struggles to score 7 on those times and I expect LSU to score frequently. We will see, that is why they play the game.

21-17 LSU.
SUU was a perennial doormat in FCS, Ed Lamb and Jernaro Gilford turned them into a solid respectable program
SEC conference gets propped up alot by the self-fulfilling prophesy of inflated eary preseason rankings and playing OOC slates full of FCS and G5 patsies, leading to that inflated view thought it is likely still the strongest conference. We did beat Miss State by a larger margin then y'all did last year so it would be objective to keep that in mind.
Remember, there is alot more to the game than just sheer talent and athleticism. Lots of underachieving teams with both of those qualities in spades but can't get their crap together due to either poor coaching or timing.
Mangum is a solid QB, plus we'll be returning an improved OL and some solid TE's. Our front 7 is pretty solid as well. Thought the talent and athleticism advantage is clearly with LSU in this game, I think coaching and our collective experience helps to make this a closer game than many of y'all are writing off. It's not like LSU or any other SEC teams haven't struggled with the occasional FCS or G5 patsy though with this being Game 1 I doubt that y'all won't be focused. If we can slow down Guice and limit the amount of damage he does to our defense in this game, I like our chances in a low scoring game.

Did you see byu's schedule?
Yes, I have seen BYU's 2016 schedule. They played 6 teams with records above 500. They won 3, they lost 3. 2 of their opponents were ranked in the final AP poll.
You read something and get yourself so worked up in a hissy fit that you read more into it then what's there. I never once said LSU wouldn't beat BYU. Hell for all I know LSU might beat the breaks off the "fightin Mormons", on the flip side of that, first game of the season, new offensive scheme, anything can happen.
Remember the start of the 2004 season? Who in their right fricking mind would have given Oregon State a snowballs chance in hell to beat LSU in the first game of the season? After all, we were coming off a National Championship season, and Oregon State is, well, Oregon State. We were GOD DAMNED LUCKY to escape that game with a victory.
All I was saying is it could happen again. that's the same damn thing that UpToPar was saying as well. But you want to get all emotional and tell people to shut the frick up. Grow a pair Kristy!

Forgot to mention that Kalani Sitake was the Utah DC from 05-14, having brought in and recruited all that Polynesian defensive talent to Utah during those years. He's building some depth here at BYU in year 2, we'll have alot of young talent playing in this game, selling out to stop the run. LSU will need to get their passing game in order, including Etling's rhythm with his receivers.
