From Zem’s Gems

Coach Frank Wilson was an assistant coach at LSU for a few years and won awards as being a top recruiter in the country.

McNeese LB Coach Will Thomas has a brother (Austin) who is General Manager of Football Operations at LSU.

McNeese OL Coach Chris Truax was a starting OL at LSU; Dad Billy Truax is an LSU and NFL legend as a TE .

McNeese WR Coach Blaine Gauthier worked for Coach Ed Orgeron as an offensive analyst.

Cody Orgeron McNeese QB is the son of LSU HC Ed Orgeron.

Cody’s twin brother Parker was a standout Slot Receiver at McNeese until too many concussions forced him to give up playing, is on the LSU staff as an analyst

McNeese’s WR Josh Mathews is the son of former LSU and NFL DL Roshaun Mathews. Josh’s younger brother(DB) is being recruited by LSU for the Class of 2023.

McNeese RB A.J Carter of Many was recruited heavily by LSU prior to his signing with Arizona State.

Tyler Toliver DB at McNeese is a relative of former LSU star Kevin Toliver.

McNeese’s Micah Davey(LB) is the son of former LSU quarterback Rohan Davey.

McNeese’ Jake LaFleur(LB) is the son of former LSU/NFL TE David LaFleur.

Jamal Pettigrew (TE) played three years for Ed Orgeron at LSU before transferring to McNeese.

McNeese WR Chris Raymond’s father Corey is the DB coach at LSU, and cousin Dylan Moses is an All-American LB at Alabama.

Accord Green (DL) is a relative of former LSU great Skyler Green.

Last but not least, LSU SID Michael Bonnet and McNeese SID are the sons of former McNeese SID Great Louis Bonnet who searched as McNeese AD for over 40 years.

Oh, by the way, these two teams play the second weekend of September. It should be a homecoming for several LSU / McNeese connections. Including some financial supporters and alumni of both schools.

We should NEVER play McNeese nor should we play any FCS teams.

Louisiana has 5 FBS teams: LSU, Tulane, ULL, ULM, and Tech. LSU should only play the other 4 FBS LA schools.

Why include Dylan Moses in this? He has nothing to do with LSU other than he was once committed.

And did you know that McNeese wore purple and gold back when it was a small college and not a University? They didn't have sufficient funds for uniforms so LSU gave them some they no longer wore.

There isn’t much difference in ULM or Tulane and Mcneese from a competitive standpoint. ULM and Tulane are so awful.

The gold was that shade of “old gold” and looked quite nice. Jack Doland wanted McNeese to have its own identity and in 1970 changed the football uniforms/school colors to the blue and “bright” gold still worn today.

This makes me feel so damn old. I remember seeing Jake run around as a toddler. David’s parents were my neighbors growing up in Westlake. I had no idea he was playing college ball. Crazy!

Can not wait for the game! Should have a good alumni turnout as I know quite a few people who attended both schools

Exactly- The point of hearing the name Dylan Moses, especially the fact he went to gump land, was not necessary...

Yes,

It was Jack Doland, former LSU player and coach, who built McNeese as a Coach, AD, President, and later state Senator who dropped the purple in favor of the Royal Blue.
