Does anyone think LSU was holding back last night and not wanting to open playbook too soon? What say you?

I say it was a little of that and more the fact the players were just not that amped once they jumped on Miss St.

I thought they played OK. Played well enough to win and that is what counts.

Yes for two reasons.

1. New QB
2. Save best plays for Bama,Florida, and Georgia

They do not need an excuse. Take a look at the first half stats.

Then we had injuries and I am sure the coaches pulled back to prevent further injury.

I mean come on, Miss St is still an SEC team. They are going to score and move the ball every once in awhile.

I think that those that say LSU was 'holding back' are just looking for an excuse to justify a sub-par performance.

I don't know about that. That was the first pass to the full back I've seen this season. I believe for each team we play, Crowton has a game plan. There is no opening or closing of playbooks. Each team has it's own playbook and it is used in it's fulllest depending on personnel and down and distance.

lol last season a few players mention we were holding some of the playbook out in the early season....now every lsu fans thinks and talks about us holding back like a new fad

no were are not holding back.....auburn and msu gave us a game....if we would have held back we would have lost both games...

lsu may have a strategic plan as to what plays they are going to run when.....but we are not holding back

I say we may be. I also say that no one but the coaching staff knows for sure. IMO we may be saving some trick plays for bigger games. If that constitutes holding back then okay.

Maybe all the safe plays while breaking in Lee.

well put, I believe that's the case, but I also think it's a factor in choosing how much of our potential we actually reveal, which is no knock against one team or another.

its not a matter of holding back. its a matter of half the playbook not being available when lee is under center. lee does not have the attibutes to run any kind of option. looks more like jimbos playset when hes in. which is what i dont like.
