Goss Stadium at Coleman Field-Oregon State baseball stadium

Tiger Park-LSU softball stadium

quote:

The LSU softball team announced plans for a new indoor facility at Tiger Park on Thursday.

The LSU Softball Performance Center will be the largest indoor facility in the Southeastern Conference.

The 14,500 square foot indoor practice facility will dedicate 1,279 of its square feet for a weight room and 770 square feet for cardio equipment.

The performance center includes a full sized custom and motorized netting that covers the whole surface. No matter what the weather condition is, the softball team can still fully participate in infield, hitting and slapping drills.

All of the hitting lanes will include wired electricity for the staff and the players to have multiple batting practices at one time, as well as a custom multi-camera system for the staff and the players to review film post practice.

Custom turf will resemble the real grass at Tiger Park in terms of performance, and all of the lighting in the facility will be energy efficient with impact-resistant LED fixtures.

It also includes 517 square feet of storage space and a 240 square foot locker room area. Graphics will be displayed all inside the facility to honor the team’s history.

Gated gameday restrooms with an outside entrance for fans will be connected to the facility on the opposite side of the weight room.

Also included in the project are an additional 500 bleacher seats that will be placed in right center field and a parking lot for SEC Network trucks for both softball and soccer fields.

The building will be located behind the existing scoreboard, and the road circling Tiger Park will be realigned to accommodate the new facility.

[Hopes this gets the Beaver fans attention]

I’m really confused as to what you’re trying to accomplish in this thread.

Are you saying that Oregon State’s baseball stadium is about as big/nice as LSU’s new softball stadium?

If so, why did you include the shittiest photo of their stadium you could find, and why show the other photos of the LSU softball facility?

Or are you just promoting the new softball facility?

Goss sits 3315 and the Record for a game is like 3700.

I thought I read somewhere that the NCAA is all about money?

Pretty much, except I'm comparing it with any SEC softball stadium. And Tiger Park isn't even the best softball stadium in the SEC. South Carolina and Mizzou are both nicer IMO. But the configurations are so similar I used Tiger Park.

That's actually about the best view of the stadium there is. If I had really wanted to be mean, I would have shown the Quonset hut outside the right field fence.

Feel free to google it yourself, and post any pics you think are nicer. But I was going for angle shots, to fit as much of each stadium into the picture as possible.

To show that as good as our softball stadium is in relation to their baseball stadium, it's about to get even better.

Disgraceful for a program that won two nattys in the 2000s. Artificial turf too.

Oregon baseball only got rebooted in 2009. They may suck but at least they know what a park should look like.

We could have played in a great stadium if we had won more games. A week ago we would have been ecstatic to play in the tourney on a muni field in Idaho.

That's Phil Knight/Nike money in Eugene.
Corvalis is State, you know, the frowned-upon ag. school like in most states not named Louisiana.

Don't diss Quonset huts, they are a part of a history that built things in this nation.

they share that park with a minor league team so not exactly apples to apples

yeah, osu's stadium is modest but nationally, it's an above average situation especially when you consider that it's not in the southern part of the country

I wouldn't even call it modest nationally. It's just modest compared to most of the stadiums in this conference. I think the OP may just have a somewhat distorted view of what is normal. Their stadium is actually pretty nice comparatively speaking and especially compared to most of the stadiums out west. They just don't have the big, nice stadiums we have grown accustomed to in the SEC but it's still every bit as nice or nicer than several SEC stadiums (Missouri, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia)
