This is Danny's Chance to prove he can help lead LSU to a victory if needed. MSU will probably have alot of people dedicated to stop the run . He will be counted on to be able hit some passes to open up the run. I'm hoping he proves the media wrong. Anyway here is how most view etling Etling

Good. Gives him the opportunity to prove them wrong.

If #16 is our biggest "problem", we're in good shape.

It might be harsh to say that Etling is a problem, but he has to prove that he can win on a big stage with his arm. So far he hasn't proven that yet.

I hope they print this and paste it all over the locker room.

I remember when they saw Matt Mauck as a problem. That turned out decently

This game will tell us a lot about Etling and the new Canada offense IMO. I'm pretty excited about it. Etling is a huge wildcard for the outlook of our entire season.

That's fine as long as he keeps churning out the wins, they can say what they want.

They said these same things about AJ McCarron right before he started lighting people up with a great team. Canada simply has to be creative with the run and pass game to be successful with Etling. He doesn't need to pass the ball all around the yard. Simply manage the game, and step up in the pocket when he needs to and make good throws. Take off when he sees an opening. He can't miss like he did last week but those things can be fixed and if he does fix them LSU will be a very good team. GT

Etling has attempted just 31 throws. In other words, head coach Ed Orgeron hasn’t displayed much confidence in the senior quarterback.

Except that a third of those throws were over 20 yds.
Why bother writing if you aren't going to actually do your due diligence and watch the games?

The average national sports journalist weenie knows jack about LSU football. It's clear that whoever wrote this hasn't kept up with what we've been trying to do on offense. I doubt they even know who our offensive coordinator is. No mention of Canada in a blurb about LSU offense?

That is a pretty spot on opinion. Doesn't help when Etling has the throw the ball over the rafters of the Super Dome to get a long completion.

At this stage in the game, he should have more power behind his throw, and be able to zip the ball

You can tell that nobody is actually watching LSU's games. Lazy journalist just sticking to the old Les Miles narratives.

Threw for 217 yards and 2 touchdowns in a blowout win of #15 ranked team.
Threw for 324 yards against the #22 ranked team.
Those were much bigger stages than this one and he wasn't healthy in either of those games.

Etling is one of the better QB's we've had here since 2007. He was better than Harris, even with a bad back and no feeling in his leg. He can actually read a defense. I thank him for helping us beat the shite out of Ole Miss, Arkansas, A&M, and Louisville last year.
