I’m still wondering how we got screwed out of the 1979 USC game.

C’mon guys, everyone knows you have to have 3 feet in bounds at Alabama.

I think the BS they claimed was Julio touched the ball which activated that BS rule that screwed us out of the fumble vs Bama this year. Doesn’t make sense though because he already secured possession.
Yeah Alabama fans to this day still claim the stupid Julio touched the ball thing. If that was the reason for the call Ritter would have mentioned that.

The immediate aftermath showed the power of TD. There was a "guest" ref helping the replay guys, Dick Burleson. He was retired but had been an SEC ref and was the guy in 1989 that gave Florida one more play vs LSU.
TD slueths found out Burleson not only had a website but was a frequent speaker at Red Elephant Club meetings and other Tide events.
That website shut down midday Monday after the game.

Man what a crazy idea. It would be a shame if someone did that again for the fumble recovered against bama this year. You def should not share their fax number

If they had given Bama the ball, a ball clearly recovered by LSU in the middle of the field in clear sight. I have no doubt the refs never would have made it out of the stadium.
Unbelievable. They awarded Bama a fumble that Bama never even touched. If that game wasn’t in Tiger Stadium, and Bradie James hadn’t forced them to look at the replay on the Jumbotron, it would’ve been an all-time horrible call.

That call has the be the most blatant example of the refs doing their best to help Bama win because they couldn’t do it on their own.
A more recent example is whatever the frick they called in Austin when Bryce Young should’ve been safetied

What happened was that the Field official called Peterson out of bounds and the booth official write or wrong said there was not enough info to chance it.
Coach Miles was standing by the field official who made the call and in his opinion the official could not see Petersen’s feet at all because he(Mike) could not see them because he was blocked by the receiver. He think he guessed at the call on the field.

The worst call in the history of sports is the NOLA no call considering the obviousness of the call and what was at stake.
This was the most blatant mistake that could have been overturned by replay.

Acid eye was the ref durnig those time and he is a big Alabama homer. Thats why hes out of the SEC ref gig, he got fired because of his blantant favoritism.

A horrible call, no doubt. The sort of blatant shite that makes you really believe the games are rigged. But we can feel better knowing the LSU offense was pitiful that day (as usual) and there was about a 1% chance LSU does anything meaningful with that drive anyway.
There were a handful of horrific calls, all against LSU, in the 2006 Auburn game. And those calls really did cost the game and cost LSU the West.

I hate this bull shite comment that always comes up in regard to this.
We had already had 2 touchdown drives one 60 yards one 90+ yards
We led the game into the 4th quarter which people like you ignore. We were only down 6 at that point.
Youre telling me that a massive momentum changing interception wouldnt have impacted the energy with how the teams played?

Funny story- for a solid YEAR after that call, I sent a printed screenshot of the play via fax to the SEC office with a hand-written note asking what the frick they saw to make that call the way they did.

Seriously TYFYS

Seriously, that is the single worst call I have ever seen.

You haven’t watched a lot of college football. I saw Bama (oddly) victimized on its home field by Penn State, I believe. The PS receiver caught the ball right on the BACK edge of the THREE FEET wide white line, and it was ruled a TD!
But the worst I ever saw - I can’t remember who was playing - was in a college game about 30 years ago. There was a bomb thrown and an interception right in the middle of the field. The defender who caught it FELL DOWN, rolled over, got up, and ran for a TD because the offense trotted off when they saw him fall down.
YT Worst calls ever
The one I talked about above is between 4:30 and 6:30, but I had it wrong. There were two egregious calls, both benefiting Penn State, and both in the same season. The first was, I believe, in the KO Classic against Miami. Penn State catches the ball three feet out of bounds, on the game winning drive, and it is ruled complete. The second is against Bama. Bama throws a late TD, with the receiver at least two feet in bounds, and it is ruled out. Penn State won both games they should have lost. Both are shown on this highlight reel between about 4:30 and 6:30. Both ten times worse than the PP7 call, and neither were the worst I’ve ever seen.

This argument holds absolutely NO water, you can literally see dirt kick up from murray divot in even the most low resolution replay. That was foot #1, foot #2 was also in bounds, but should have not even been an issue since College is 1 foot.
That was an NFL INT.
