You can tell that he really wants to be a part of this staff. I bet he would be a good recruiter.

Sounds like a used car salesman saying everything that the fans want to hear. Should fit in great on this staff.

Are people just going to sweep his past under the rug?

Would we do the same for other people we're looking to hire?

Is his past really that much worse than some of the others that are on staff?

I don't see how hiring him could hurt. A committed QB coach needs to be on the staff.

Only way it could hurt is if he isn't a good coach or a good recruiter and takes an on-field coaching position away from a person that is both of those things.

So yeah, it could hurt.

I can tell he really wants the job. The question I have are about his bona fides. Could he really work wonders for the quarterback position or would he just be another person collecting a paycheck? If he's so great and everything, how many other programs are after him?

He would most likely be an analyst, not a coach on the field.

Any coach is better than no coach, which is what LSU currently has in the position that hes lobbying for.

No one is comparing him to other coaches.

The "best" OC in CFB don't need no Salisbury.

Legitimate question. Who are the QBs that he's coached up and what are they doing right now?

Honest question, what makes him a strong candidate to join this staff? Just because he played in the nfl over 20 years ago does not make him qualified to be here.

What I'm saying is that is simply not true.

There are a finite number of on-field coaching slots. If we hire one that doesn't have much value-add, it's is subtraction by addition.

Now, I have no idea if he can recruit or coach well. I'm just saying that hiring a coach because we don't have one doesn't mean its automatically a positive.
