Ed O was announced as coach and I was furious. I then read every article about him and watched videos. He talked like us stuck in my head. Why didn’t we pay Jimbo? Why didn’t we expand our search? Was this the end of Alleva?

I decided to give him a chance. He didn’t do a great job in his half season of recruiting year 1. He went through an OC quickly. It was a disaster. But I still gave him a chance.

This season was unreal. 10 wins. Nobody predicted over 9. NOBODY. Most said 7. He doesn’t just talk like us. He is our COACH. And a damn good one. He will go down as one of the greatest LSU coaches of all time. Forget the past. Everyone has a bad past. It’s how you change based on failure. And he has and is showing he did that greatly. To O and the staff. Thank you. You are growing LSU better than ever.

I never had any doubts.

I don't think that word "everyone" means what you think it means.

This is incorrect. People did predict 10 or more wins.

Really? Everyone?

I don't think you know what everyone and nobody means.

Kind of like when you say everyone who has a problem with something hates LSU and wants them to fail.

ETA: Not exactly the same, but it's at least along those lines.

I legit believe this, and I'll give credit where it's due.

I always gave him a chance. Every coach needs atleast 3 years to turn a program around and O has done that. He is a well known prolific recruiter and thats all you need with the ability to hire quality Coordinators (he hasn’t proven that yet).

This year was a little better than expected

Last year was a little worse

We still have the same problems we've been having for more than a decade

Fix that and then we can start crowning people.

I am already more excited about next season than I ever was about this past one, and he deserves credit for the momentum we have built. Gotta capitalize and bring home some type of hardware next year.

I was angry that we didn’t follow the same process we did in 1999-2000 and 2004-2005, but I didn’t assume anything about O, and I have the same attitude now: let him work and we’ll see how he does.

He exceeded expectations this season.

Well, we didn't really need turning around, to be fair.

We needed slight adjustments, and as it stands now, we haven't really seen that.

Doubts about what??

He’s 24-9 since taking over.

4-8 against teams ranked at the end of the yea (4-9 if you include Troy since they were apparently so good).

Until we start beating more of those teams, doubt will, and should, remain.

These threads are entertaining though

Is this a joke? LSU had more talent than 11 of the 13 teams they played this year.

I see why some of you live paycheck to paycheck. You settle for mediocrity in your lives so you think that's okay for the team you root for.

The coaching search was a joke. Keep handing over your money to LSU without any expectations of greatness because they are counting on buffoons like you.

He still needs to hire a good OC. If he does that, he will keep me happy. We're not beating Bama with Ensminger calling the plays.

I still have doubts.

One very good win (UGA)
Three decent wins (AU, U, MSU)
One terrible win (Ark)

2 of 3 losses the offense looked like it always has.

So you might be right, and the good thing is that time will tell.
