First off, I believe he will redshirt regardless of what position he plays.

But I think we have a guy here who could be really good at multiple positions. He is 6’5” and weighs around 250. He looks like an NFL TE right now on film. (Against lesser talent, obviously).

Watch this before you tell me he doesnt move like a swift TE even though it says he weighs 270 on 247 sports. He clearly looks less than 250. He might even run a 4.6.
Him playing TE in highschool this year.

He is being recruited as an OT and I could see him being really good, but it would take him 3 years to put on the weight to be 285+ pounds and that could be tough to pull off. Even though we need OT so badly right now, I really think if we kept him slim and quick, he would be a great TE. He is an elite blocker for his speed. Reminds me of a smaller Terron Armstead. But he could be a guy that our offense puts him on the line of scrimmage to block at an elite level and also rollout for a pass. Especially with the way our pass happy offense will soon be with Joe Brady. I think he could be a future all SEC TE and that is my bold prediction for the future.

I think he could end up being like a Dillon Gordon. TE his entire careeer at LSU and then sign to an NFL team as an OL prospect who needs work.

Yeah he very well could. Thats a good correlation. I just wanna know how fast his 40 is and how quick he is. It’s hard to tell against the competition he went up against, but he looks fast and quick on tape for his size.

Looks like a Gronk style TE to me. Love the way he attacks his blocking assignment. Could be a beast in Brady's Spread/RPO.

Tough, but it's certainly doable. Willie Roaf was only 215 when he went to LaTech. You know the rest of the story.

The staff obviously sees something in him that signifies a potential growth spurt. He's got a body that can handle the mass.

His current build and speed leads me to believe that he could become an average-above average TE. Or he can pack on 50-60 lbs of lean mass and become an exceptional-elite offensive tackle. I'd personally choose option B.

Why do people question his competition? Ruston plays teams like Neville and West Monroe regularly.

Parker told The News-Star he plans to wait until National Signing Day, Feb. 6, to officially sign with the Tigers. Until then, he wants to help Ruston win a state championship while improving his 40-yard dash time, which is 4.7 currently, and become an overall better athlete.

IDK, but looks like he has the athleticism to shave a tenth or two off that time.

But, Jerry Rice and Gronk did OK with about 4.7 40 times.

He’s my favorite get this class, there’s no way he plays tight end and it definitely won’t take him 3 years to put on 50 pounds on that frame. Just my opinion but I think he’ll be a stud.

Just looking at him I think he had a ton of room to fill out and grow. I think the coaches took him as a tight end knowing there was a good chance he would grow out of that role and slide over to tackle. Either way he is a really good athlete and exciting prospect.

Add Longview to the list of poor competition Ruston plays. They only won Texas state championship last year. Ha

For Ray's sake I hope he decides to pack on weight and move to OT. TE's seem to disappear at LSU.

He will more than likely redshirt. They have nutritionist that work with the players everyday. They will have him on a 5K calorie a day diet if needed to put on the lbs. Bet he is up close to 300 by this time next year.

How many TE get drafted in a year as opposed to OL? Kid is thinking about his future and is going to play on the OL. Think back to Marcus Spears who was a 5* TE. He wanted to play TE in college until Saban showed him the signing bonuses of the DL from the previous draft. Marcus said it was a no brainier.

We have been begging to get a big frame kid that moves well to plug in at tackle. We get one and we want to make him a TE

Agree. He’s like a stem cell. He will be important at what he will do, but he doesn’t know what he will be yet. He needs a year to beef up for OT.

But if he stays at 260, he can mesh some movement to his game to make a sick tight end.

Almost the same story for Charles Turner.

ETA: Great topic. I am highly Interestdd in Parker and there for turner.

I think Anthony Bradford might fit that bill. Watch the kids highlights. Attitude and is pretty quick along with the size. He is 6'5" and 355lbs. Probably needs to lose 25 lbs. Hope he comes in to camp in shape. He was the #1 player from the state of Michigan. He made Detroit free press 1st team 3 years in a row.

Played both Right and Left tackle in HS. Is an absolute road grader in the run game. His QB set passing record for Muskegon HS which also won 27 straight games.
