Let's Pretend For a Moment That The SEC Didn't "Tilt" The Game Last Night....
Posted by EZE Tiger Fan on 11/27/22 at 10:31 am

Yeah yeah we deserved to lose. Sure. I'm cool with all that. Let's get all the "tough guy" talk out the way. Yeah yeah you're a pussy, blah blah. TLDR pussy. Blah blah.
Now, let's close our eyes and pretend we live in a world where SEC officials aren't tilting games and blatant calls aren't made. Ahhhh what a fun world that would be...
It is almost halftime. LSU is down 17-10. LSU is moving the ball quickly for a momentum score before the half. A blatant PI is called that would give LSU a first down in FG range. Low and behold, that flag is picked up. Replay shows a very clear, blatant PI on aTm. Let's say, for fun, the SEC isn't crooked and makes the correct call. I won't be greedy. I'll say LSU gets a FG there. 17-13 at the half. Cool.
Second half, LSU comes out, stops them, gets the ball, goes up 20-17. Stops them again, gets the ball...
Uh oh. Fumble six. LSU now down 24-20.
Here's where it gets really fun.
While LSU is working to get momentum back after the fumble six, we convert a long third down that gives us first and ten in the Red Zone. But wait! A phantom "hold" reverses a great play, and puts us completely out of FG range. We get nothing thanks to another well timed, blatant call. Let me also remind you that the "hold" was called on a defender that crashed inside and also unintentionally took themselves out of the play. So laughably obvious what the ref did there. I'll be nice and say we just get a FG there too, we are now just down 24-23.
aTm scores again, and then our next TD, (the one where we go for two), would have been going for two for the tie. We don't get it. OK. aTm scores again, but LSU's next TD is waived off. Yeah, that TD. Instead of LSU just being down 2-3 with all three timeouts left, we lose by two scores. Again, not saying we stop them or win, but entire dynamic of the game is different with fair officiating. LSU lost the opportunity for anywhere from 12-21 points.
So, tell me again how bad officiating doesn't cost teams. I'm also tired of "if you dominate this doesn't happen". Well, when you actually make the plays, but the refs take them away, what do you do then?
Here's to a great season. Next year CBK will have the talent to overcome a lot of this, hopefully.
ETA:
Below is a YouTube clip from Friggin 1993 where I learned about the rule that the SEC "interpreted" last night to keep us from getting the TD. I was a CU fan in HS. I almost went to college there. They lost to Stanford on this TD. Fast foward to the 308 minute mark of the game, watch the play, listen to the commentary, and tell me again the SEC isn't compromised.
How Dare You Point This Out You Pu$$Y!!

How big of a pussy are you?
LSU lost, got its arse kicked by muh 4-8. The refs had nothing to do with a team that couldn’t stop the run.

If your point is that the refs sucked last night, and blew some calls, I agree. If you are saying that the refs went into the game with the explicit plan to make sure LSU lost, then you are wrong.
Are you the type of person that believes that every election that that your side loses is "stolen"?

Do I believe that the REC sometimes instructs officials to influence games, yes, I do. Do I believe that there was some sort of nefarious plot against us last night, no, I don't.

A&M has talent, played well, and whipped us up and down the field. That’s the story and the only story!

Still need an explanation for the picked up flag. Brian Kelly should have come unglued out on the field over that.

There were a few bad calls yes did it costs us the game no. We were out coached, out schemed, and out played. IMO that was a hold on Emory his hands were on the outside and he was holding. Did he need to. No. On the other hand they held Perk 40 three times and he also had a hands to the face they missed. We put ourselves in that situation allowing a 4-7 wounded team to dominate us.

People cannot believe that other people can behave in such ways and that the thought of conspiracy is lunacy. People view things in this way because:
1. They would never consider behaving that way. I get it, but it is a dangerous way to think.
2. They mostly cannot view things logically. As such they do not get that logic is the best evidence.
At the end of the day, LSU has no QB. So there's that.

LSU got outplayed but the refs certainly called flags and picked up ones at very unfortunate times.

Lacy dropped 2 passes that killed likely TD drives. Especially the first drive of the game that could have set the momentum for the rest of the game. LSU just didn’t make plays and didn’t control the line of scrimmage. There were some bad and missed calls but you can say that for most games. LSU just didn’t get it done. Last night was A&M’s bowl game and they played like it.

He did come unglued and actually the TV coverage showed him yelling at the refs before they interviewed Jumbo.

They're fixing elections across the land but football games are off limits!

What about the holding calls on the A&M secondary that extended the drive for LSU twice that gave them a chance to get back in the game? They didn’t have to call those.
Just accept the fact that we got beat and move on. This is just embarrassing.

Well of course not! I have no doubt that politicians in DC are just as pure as the Bama alums that lead our conference!
You have completely changed my mind. Thanks.

Correct.

Also correct.
My hypothetical doesn't claim victory for LSU at all.

We can't guarantee a TD on either drive, but you are correct.

Also correct. Again, my hypothetical claims no victory for LSU, merely a much closer game where we have a legit shot at it.
