With all the sanctions LSU is fixing to have it’s going to be really tough to get a big name. It’s going to have to be a young guy wanting to prove himself.

Its a little bit different. Mulkey grew up right down the road from LSU, there is a strong Louisiana connection.

Plus the new coach will be walking in with a bunch of baggage hanging over the program in the short term.

Only makes it easier for him. He’s not coming to a place where we don’t invest in basketball one bit

Well, the Coach got fired, new school president, and AD. No one really left that had anything to do with it. All LSU has to do is self impose a couple of penalties, go buy another good coach, hit the portal, and NIL stuff hard, and they will be back within a couple of years.

Look at what Maulky did with women’s bb in one year.

Unless the NCAA decides to try and make an example of LSU they will be fine pretty fast.

What exactly did you check? Homer Drew coached at LSU for 4 years. Scott Drew lived in Baton Rouge for 4 years as a kid. Bryce Drew was born in Baton Rouge.

Considering football is involved, too, don't be surprised if they decide to make an example, especially since it's their last big chance to hammer a school for things that occurred in the pre-NIL era.

Scott's Godfather is Dale Brown and his Dad, Homer Drew, was the assistant coach at LSU when I was there (in 1978), so, yes, Scott has ties to LSU and Louisiana.

Mulkey had a run in with Livingston and was unhappy to begin with.
