Easy, we still have underperformed at the CWS. It's LSU baseball we are talking about. Expectations should be success at the highest level.

A point that has been made ad nauseam already.

Lets add something new to the conversation.

ETA: and chances are, this dude will be calling for Paul's head if we get bounced in a Super or make a quick Omaha exit.

Winning the SEC ain't nothing special. It's all about national titles at LSU or have you forgotten?!?!?

While I am not on the "Fire PM" wagon and never have been up to this point, his post season record has been pretty horrible even when winning the SEC and SEC tourney. He has the players but they have lacked focus and under performed on the biggest stages in the last 5 years.

You're 3 weeks early.

This team is doing the same as all others have. Peak Memorial Day weekend and then flatten out and lose a regional or super regional at home.

Bump the thread in 3 weeks.

It's ok for them to post shite about the players and coaching staff of a team all fricking year that ends up winning the west, but don't remind them what idiots they turned out to be. That's frowned on by some.

Lets you know just how limited they are in their understanding of college baseball.

I guess it depends on your level of expectations.

Certain sports are more geared towards post season results than others. Baseball is one of them. And since most of you around here put a lot of weight on the SEC and "national seed" and not post season results, you essentially are saying you are ok being mediocre and accept the fact that LSU is NOT a power as it once was.

I, on the other hand, put 90% of the weight on post season results. I don't care about the SEC, or national seed, or whatever. I care about making it to Omaha. And any program that "claims" to be the one of the best overall, should have no problem setting expectations to making it to Omaha more years than not.

Simply put, our record there since 2009 is not indicative of being one of the top programs in the country. So congrats on being comfortable with possible SEC titles and falling on your face in the post season.

You are probably one of these guys that want to give everyone a trophy that plays as well?

not the '09 team. LSU won the Natty!

now, name the teams that have won more since then; games, and natties. i'm pretty sure that Tanner won 2 at usce and vandy won one. anybody else in the SEC?

face it, LSU is still the team to beat in the SEC. sure, a team may be better in one year but year in and year out, PM gets it done. he'll win another nattie if he hangs around long enough.

The ines that dog his post season record, which in my opinion is not bad, are the ones that never played and likely sit a sports bar stools and remember their glory high school days or intramural says..,, get a wing and a beer.
