Not Near the running backs we’ve had in years past to help. Should’ve been 10-2 but whatever through what most including myself hoped to get to 8-4 if lucky with that schedule. Glad we all were wrong but this also helped me understand the Heart we had as a team an that Joe B was definitely an MVP type guy for us even if his stats dont say so. Sometimes it’s tough to understand what a guy like that does for the “whole” team and the mental strength it brings to a Team.

We were a couple of plays/calls from being 11-1. 9-3 isn't great but it's better than most predicted.

It's a good thing Emery is going to be with us next year. I hope he carries more than freshmen are used to. LSU has always been a run first team, because we have had effective running backs.

We should give the ball to the back that gives us the best chance of feasting.

That's how little room there is between a very good team (which LSU most certainly is) and the elite teams that are in the CFP playoff picture at the end of November. Can we make that next step? That remains to be seen, but that step is much more difficult than making a top 25 team into a top 10 team.

What schedule?

Schedule was shite in retrospect.

Georgia was a solid win though.

We were also a play away from being 8-4.

You know the RBs were mediocre this year when the younger Fournette brother comes in and it's a breath of fresh air.

This team should be 11-1 against that schedule.

No it's not. I'm talking actually LSU fans. Most people had us at 9-3 or 10-2. There were people thinking this team could go undefeated after beating Miami.

This narrative of 6-6 is just bullshite.

your narrative that most people had us 9-3 or 10-2 is BS.
I also do not think that most had us 6-6
Most posts I saw expected LSU to be at 8-4 at the end of the season.

Right. But the AU game was really the only truly contested win

Usually at the end of the season we're looking at 2-3 games that were one/two plays away from being a loss.

Here’s what I’ll say about this year-

The Miami, Auburn and Georgia games were fun as hell and I’ll always remember that.

Piss poor performance by the OC and HC vs Bama

A&M we got robbed by the refs

We played the entire season without K’Lavon

That was the weakest skill position unit at LSU that I can remember in the past 20 years

That was one of the weakest Oline that I can ever remember

Worst return game I’ve ever seen at LSU

Not all 9-3’s are created equally. This was a successful year for LSU overall, imo.

With that said- we should push for or make the playoffs in 2019 and 2020. Not one or the other. We should be absolutely loaded both of those years.

Game is won in the trenches by the big men. Certainly a 9-3 record exceeded expectations and IMO there was more than a few questionable calls in that A&M game. But bottom line when the smoke clears LSU has a 9-3 record and unfortunately that will not be good enough to wrestle some 5-star line talent away from Bama.(By the way Nick Saban will win another SEC Conference title today). SEC West is brutal in everyway. Then along comes Jimbo Fisher.

Having said that.....

Nobody is worried about jimbo fisher.

It’s Saban and then everyone else.
Dude needs to go.

What a ray of sunshine. Every team, every game has a turning point or possibility of a loss if certain things don't go right.

And a couple of plays from being 8-4 which a lot of us predicted.

Could have been better, but the sky is most definitely not falling.

We are coming back stronger and that’s something I can’t deny.
