QB Going Under Center
quote:

While Miles has no intention of revealing much of anything about the Jayhawks’ offense, those who check out KU’s spring game on Saturday night at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium are sure to notice at least one significant modification from the old, so-called Air Raid offense of recent years past.

quote:

Miles even lined up behind redshirt junior center Api Mane to take a snap himself as both QBs and offensive linemen observed.

Other info has the Jayhawks 67th ranked recuiting class of 2019 project at 41 for 2020.

He proubably did a full metal jacket type intro with the offense:

"The days of lolly gagging with sissy passing and innovative offenses are over. We gonna pound the rock and be physical. This is not your uncles offense anymore"

A power running scheme may be pretty successful in that baby shite soft conference.

I swear, that's one hard-headed son of a bitch. Good thing he's really likeable and personable.

I wouldn’t expect him to change lol. That style is really old school and definitely needs to be changed, but it’s definitely going to work at Kansas a lot better than it did in the SEC.

Shocked.

I will say bucking the trend of the conference is the way to go. If everyone is pass happy, run the football. Look at Stanford. They run a different style of offense and play a different kind of football which is why they have success. If they tried to play real PAC 12 style football they would be a sub par team instead of an average team.

I get why this would be the assumption. Show the defense something they don't see everyday. The only problem with that is that that particular scheme demands that you have greater talent than your opponent in order to be successful with it. That's why LSU would pound the shite out of lesser teams and then get stonewalled against teams with strong defensive talent, especially along the defensive line and linebackers.

They fronts in the Big 12 are built to rush the passer. If Miles can get even decent offensive line play Kansas won't be a doormat anymore.

The defense played in that conference is pathetic.

While some sort of passing game is necessary for any team, there is something pretty great about having a power running game that seems like almost no one can stop, certainly not completely.

Kansas has been getting stonewalled anyway. It's actually a good move for them to show something the rest of their conference won't do.

That alone might be worth an extra 2-3 wins per year while he's there.

Good luck doing that with Kansas players. Les had a hard time running against non conference opponents with LSU talent.

The only thing running the clock by playing I formation will do for Miles is shorten the beatdowns he gets in year 1.

Leonard Fournette, Derrius Guice, and Jeremy Hill and going to Kansas. I wish him luck but he's going to struggle keeping up with those Air Raid teams.

This is the problem with all of you people that defended miles all these years and his horrible powerball scheme. It was purely an emotional reaction. Machismo bullshite.

The teams that have the most successful offenses are teams that are dynamic, trick, misdirect and out scheme teams. Not teams that lineup and telegraph power run plays and 3rd and long play action.
