I would like to know who put down 10 million on Bama a few days before the game. Whoever did that had to know something was going on. You don't drop down that much cash on a game where the earlier game was so close without some knowledge of what is going to go down.

No I didn't know that, after the game I kind of went into a shell.

here's a question, why would a group of college defensive coaches, largely known as the best in the business, go to a guy who, outside of a high school and a year as a GA back in the 80's, has been in the NFL his entire career, for help stopping the option??

Good question
Furthermore, if Williams input was no big deal and unnecessary then why did smart and Saban acknowledge it?

Maybe Saban contacted spagnuola this time, if so we will win handily.

why would they lie about doing it?
It's been well covered that Willaims helped with the gameplan.

Mayweather laughs at a bet of $10 mil.
Really though, that was an overall number, not one bet I don't think.

I think what he's hinting at is that Williams did in fact help, but it wasn't to get his expertise on the option.

Miles should have contacted Jim harbaugh, he knew how to shred Williams defense.

oh ok, misread his intent

There is a sense by some (me included) that Williams didn't have any particular current expertise with the speed option and that his help was of a different nature...
That's what's makes this kinda interesting.
Nothing will change the outcome of the game and, notwithstanding Gump claims to the contrary, nobody is looking for excuses for the BCS game.
By the same token, based on what is KNOWN, I don't find much convincing iinformation about why Williams was contacted, as opposed to someone else with current experience with the speed option who DIDN'T have access to LSU practices.
Can one of the Gump posters or skeptics address this issue?
Thx.

This has been my thing since it first came out that Saban talked to Williams last year. What the frick did he know about defending the speed option?

Maybe they contacted Williams because of his integrity and his reputation for honesty.
