Did anyone else laugh out loud when we got the ball back on our own 4 yard line with 49 seconds left, then ran two plays from shotgun?

I think the only plays we run from under center are spike and victory formation. Neither of those are applicable at the 4.

Going from under center is a greater risk to fumble in my opinion. Especially when you don’t do it regularly.

I was hoping for a Go pattern pass for a 96 yd TD.

I think you might be right. I can’t remember if we’ve run any under-center goal line sets this year. I think we can assume based on the end of the UF game that it doesn’t matter whether we need 10 yards or 10 inches - we are going to play our game and dare you to stop us.

But why hand it off?

Fla had two time outs. Called the first and it was close enough to make us punt with a few seconds. With a two touchdown lead it wouldn’t make sense but you can’t be sure what an opposing coach will do.

No use putting Joe in a position to take a hit. At the same time needed a little room and clock running.

I did think that was strange. I was waiting for them to throw a 96 yard touchdown pass.

I was content with running out the clock till Cousin Eddie called a timeout after the 1st down play...then I was like air that bitch out, go for 2 and hang 50 on em!

Can you imagine if they had 3 timeouts left and on 4th down we took a safety and win by 12? How many people like me who bet the game would have been furious! It has happened to me many times in the past . But we going to the ship this year!

You hand it off cuz if u get under center and take a knee, then it's close to the end zone and a safety. Which would have been OK really, but that's a different discussion. You don't want to go under center cuz you could kneel in the endzone or stumble pulling out.

Lsu has run 2 plays under center. One was against Georgia southern, from there two or three yard line it was a slip screen to terrace marshal for a td.

The other snap under center was a 2 point conversion against Texas after 3rd and 17 td. It was a fake screen to marshal and throw to the other side of the field. It was defended well so burrow bought time and hit chase on a scramble drill type situation.

Those were the only under center plays ran, that werent v formation

The other non shotgun plays were with Myles Brennan at qb Vs northwestern state.
Myles and Co. Lined up with one of the freshmen backs, in the pistol.joe hasn't done this yet though. The freshman backs actually looked there best and most comfortable, up to that time.
This is my opinion though

They weren't trying to score
They did what they felt gave us the least chance of accidently or forcibly taking a knee in the endzone, fumbling, or holding.

We scored a TD on a bubble screen with Burrow under center.

Didn’t even think about this... that would have been a bad beat.

I stand corrected.
