Just popped it in the PC and watched the video, man what a story. Truly exemplifies the pride and spirit of LSU.

Having the privilege of working with Larry has been a true honor for me. He will certainly be missed.

For those of you who do know not, Larry is not doing well and is in Hospice currently in Baton Rouge.

He loves LSU and everything to do with LSU.

LSU, the Alumni Association and so many will miss Larry Jones.

Do you know the best way to send Larry our thoughts, appreciation and congratulations on the recent alum of the year recognition? Through the Alumni Association offices?

Cliff's Notes version: Larry played at LSU in the early 50's and became an assistant under Coach Dietzel. He coached with Dietzel at Army and South Carolina and was the head coach at Fla State between the Bill Peterson and Bobby Bowden eras. He eventually returned to LSU in administrative roles and has been a stalwart in the Alumni Association for many years. He's been a key fundraiser for Alumni scholarship programs, among other things. Larry has been a formidable representative of LSU at every turn, equally comfortable and effective with those more interested in promoting the University's academic mission and with those whose interests are primarily focused on sports. He was from Arkansas, I believe, but he could relate to anyone who loved LSU, from Buras to Bossier City, from Welsh to Washington DC.

Dealt with him several times back in the early'80s - a first class guy and LSU through and through...
Will keep him and his family in my prayers.
