The title on this portion of ESPN's Get Up, is "How concerned should 2 Alabama be about 4 LSU?" following LSU's great victory over Texas, the Tigers moved up to 4 in the A.P. Former LSU Tiger Marcus Spears tells Kirk Herbstreit the number one question he gets asked by a bunch of LSU fans in college and folks around the world is "how is that dynamic working between Steve Ensminger and Joe Brady?"

Herbstreit explained that calling the Texas game allowed him great access to LSU coaches and players, that he got "very, very close access" to all of LSU's coaches, including in the booth. Herbstreit said that the pair in the booth work really great together, and they made clear, Ensminger is the offensive coordinator and calls the plays, he noted that Steve has no ego and that Brady is the one giving advice or as Herbstreit described it, "whispers sweet nothings in his ear" about which play might be good to call.

Spears comes in at the 2-minute mark to ask Herbstreit about Ensminger and Brady, before that the discussion is how LSU can play with any team in the country including Alabama, Clemson, and Ga. Sorry if German.

I've seen this already. Kirk also said Joe Brady will be a head coach in a matter of years.

Also said Joe Brady brought in the offensive system we run.

He knows the x’s and o’s but will he be just as good a recruiting. That’s what makes or breaks college coaches.

So the experienced OC gets advice from the young assistant? I don’t care how it’s spun this is Brady’s offense.

He's definitely learning from one of the best right now.

And who knows, he may have the NFL on his mind.

This offense is great but he has a 5th year Sr at Qab that knows the game inside and out. To go with that, he has a ridiculous amount of very talented receivers. Let’s see how he does against SEC defenses now that they’re getting tape. Then let’s see how he does with brennan and future QB’s. I think he will be fine but he still has to prove he can do it year in and year out. Many were ready to crown Aranda as the key to O’s success but teams are learning his defense and it’s starting to show. Can he adapt?

The way Herbstreit spoke, Ensminger and Brady really get along well, "whispers sweet nothings", like a couple of love birds. That is very important for LSU that they have this strong bond. But in a few short years, Brady is going to want to coach somewhere. Hope he stays a while, this is fun!

You can accomplish great things when people work hard together and no one cares who gets the credit.

I feel like this whole process has been very respectful.

E is a great sport abotu essentially being replaced. Brady is very respectful of E and says all the right things.

E calls the plays that Brady lines up for him.

Steve was ready to retire a few years ago, until O talked him into taking the OC job. I wouldn't be surprised if he retires after this year and Brady takes over.

One important thing to note is to have Brady in the box with CSE now, he has to be a coach and not analyst.

And as presumed by many, myself included, these WRs would not be performing at this level, in a new offense, starting with game 1, without Brady being a good communicator and teacher.

So...
1. Brady AND this shiny new offense is getting plenty of publicity
2. Brady is a coach, and thus can (and will be expected to) recruit off campus
3. Presumed to be a good communicator/teacher
4. top that off with some NFL experience

Those 4 add up to an indicator Brady will have several advantages over his competitors and should do well in recruiting.

Success breeds success. Brady is the face of the offensive success at LSU, for the most part. It will pay dividends on the trail.

They need to cut off Kirk’s access to the team so when LSU plays Clemson in the Nat’l Championship, he’s not giving those secrets to his sons.

Some of you would chop your dick off before you gave Ensminger the slightest bit of credit.

I mean, Kirk did give SE some credit. Said he credits SE for allowing a young up and coming guy to come in and improve everything. I credit him for that too. Not a lot of people would do that. Miles had that problem and it cost him his job.

It’s gonna suck when Brady leaves whenever that may be

Brady is going to need a couple of years as an OC. at least 2-3 before he becomes a head coach. I think as long as we give him that position here we'll be fine. After that, I have confidence in O and the type of offense he wants to run and I think he'll find a good replacement.

Drives me crazy reading some of their posts. Ensminger is responsible for making Brady comfortable coming to LSU and making Orgeron comfortable with the new offense. Fans owe Steve a lot.

Of course Steve gets credit but the offense we see right now doesn’t exist without Brady. There is no shame in admitting that Steve couldn’t install this offense.
