Sorry if already posted - When asked what LSU eventually did to shut down his offense, Kiffin reportedly said, “They started playing 40 (Harold Perkins) more, which I thought they would probably eventually do because he isn’t like anyone else out there.”

What more can you say? Should reinforce why HP needs to be part of the game plan and on the field as much as possible. The guy makes plays and makes everyone around him even better.

At the same time, Dart got comfortable and then we unleashed a fresh Perkins. If that was the game plan, it wasn’t stupid.

Perkins is like lightening.

But watching the game, I couldn't help but notice him bullrushing 310lb tackles back into the QB...over and over again.

How is that possible?

Perkins is a different animal, even Kiffen says it, but people will wonder why one linebacker makes a difference….Well, when you have that dude, it just changes both teams… You team knows to trust that position will get it done, don’t have to think about help, just concentrate on your job. The other team has to account for him, others try to help chip and help block, and it speeds things up, and QB accuracy is affected, like you saw when Perkins came in. You don’t have to do anything but watch the game back and look at the numbers….he’s just a difference maker…

Sad if true Kiffin. You let one player shut down your vaunted offense? Maybe you should stay off of Twitter.

Kelly addressed in post game interview. He said they have to find a way to get him on the field every play. No better time than a bye week to prepare

Because within the schemeHouse runs there are things that another offense will throw at him that he can’t do as well at this point, and means a player that can do those things well has to be on the bench. Do I agree? Not necessarily but that was kinda BK answer last night on HP.

It's like the old Saban/Skyler Green thing.

Saban to Jimbo - why isn't Skyler Green playing? Jimbo - he doesn't know all the plays coach. Saban - well run the plays he knows and put him in!!

They put 40 in and told him - just go get the quarterback!

Exactly. If Perkins is not making the tackle he is effecting the play to the point were other LSU defenders are making great plays.

To be fair I did see Perkins break off and guard the Ole Miss TE a couple of times. That is huge. That is how you gain the coaching staff's trust for more playing time.

He didn’t give up a catch in coverage either. There’s nothing he can’t do out there.
