Baseball will always be the #2 sport at LSU.

Cause you're a dork that's why

If basketball is good, it's worth more than baseball.

Being good once every 10 years doesn't cut it

It would never happen but screw basketball. Cut it and make rugby and soccer varsity splitting the scholarships (and funding) between. With a couple of top tier foreign players, rugby would be a top 5 program. Heck if athletics would just give the rugby team access to a weight room they would probably be a top 10 program. Throw in a strength and conditioning coach and they'd be top 5. And I expect Soccer could follow.

Should just drop basketball and pick up mens soccer. If we could get the louisiana talent to stay we could be instant contenders.

The people suggesting dropping basketball are idiots.

LSU would make more money long term by cutting baseball and investing that money into basketball.

The box and the pmac hold about the same amount of people. If they both sell out every game there are far more baseball games then basketball so they probably make more revenue from baseball.

Invest what? We don't spend dick on basketball, which is why you're seeing this type of product. We've got one of the lowest paid staffs in the conference, and arena with no amenities, there's no marketing or promotion. There is no way you could possibly spend less money on a SEC basketball program than we do right now.
There would be nothing to give to another sport, aside from the money saved on the light bill.

No!! Make basketball fun again. I was a student 1978-1983. When LSU is good at basketball the PMAC is a blast and the community will support the team. It is painful to watch what is happening now.

Maybe so, but it wasn't always like that. When I was at LSU, Skip Bertman would come to basketball games and at half time, he would beg students to come out and watch the baseball team.
With only a student ID, you could not only get into the baseball game, but you could sit damn near anywhere you liked.

I wish I could down vote you twice for thinking of cutting baseball

Nahh, just don't care for basketball.
Its not like its going to happen ever.
You can't argue the fact a mens soccer team would be a much much better product than this basketball team.
