JSU Coach blaming loss on officiating

She basically said if they make their FTs and if HBCUs gets the calls that other conferences get, then they would have won. It is all about “Us against the world”. I think this is another example of why our country is as divided as it is. Another Staleyesq shot at Mulkey despite Mulkey paying her the compliments she did.
I wonder if those baseball coaches at Southern and Bethune-Cookman tell all their white players “we aren’t getting the calls because we are black?…”

Yeah because we have all the white girls playing for us. I am black and this is getting out of hand.

Actually, every time their big made a move in the low post and fell down, they whistled us for a foul. If anything, they got the better of the calls.

LSU fans habitually blame officiating for losses.
JSU shows no less class than we do.
And what she said, that HBCU don’t get calls the big conferences do, is very similar to the argument that schools from big TV markets and conference favorites (like Alabama) get all the close calls b/c money talks.

I met KP last year while traveling. She saw my LSU gear and I saw a bag with her academic all-conference lettering. She was very impressive in everything she said about why she wanted to come back to school and the fact that she loved LSU so much. Her motivation and devotion to LSU to play for Mulkey was very clear “Win for LSU in March”. She said you know “Nikki is my Aunt” specifically to put an explanation point to her motivation.
That is a bridge builder mentality.

If she just played the small conference card that would be normal bitching. Instead she insinuates that it’s because they are a HBCU and talks about fighting for culture.

Same coach was Screaming irate when one of her players got a bloody lip. Kept telling the referees that someone punched her player in the face. When you look at the replay….ball came off the rim and hit the girl square in the lip. LSU wasn’t involved at all.

Honestly, she could have made her point without the drama if she had said small conferences vs big conferences. I don't know it would have made a difference here but there is at least a little merit to that argument.
