Is there any chance Josh Smith comes back for his Senior year?

One thing about the draft is teams can take chances on first round picks because if they don’t sign, the team gets it compensated back, teams can’t and won’t draft a player in the 2nd round they think could stay in school.

Give it a minute, and then check the number of upvotes you get on this post. That's your answer to the % chance he comes back.

to get his degree, very strong. to play baseball, Josh will make his MLB debut in less than 2 years.

I was thinking the same thing, just curious if there was something out there that would make him want to stay.

To add to that, teams basically have a verbal agreement now before they make the pick
They will call multiple players, ask them if they pick them, would they take this much signing bonus, and then the team makes a decision based on what they said
This is what happened with the signee Cairo. He gets his call and they offer him double the slot value for that pick (was 400k, they asked if he'd sign for 900k, said yes, they picked him, he said goodbye to Mainieri, twitter freaks out after taking Mainieri quotes out of context)
There is still negotiating to be done of course. Teams will go lower if something comes up on medical for example
