I saw an article from the Advocate today briefly going over this guy as he is coming in as a preferred walk on for the QB position. It says he wasn't offered any scholarships accept for Nicholls at the last minute, but by then he stuck with LSU. He seems to have decent size and I'm curious as to why he wasn't offered by anyone at all? Does his game have holes that no one is really talking about? Or is he a diamond in the rough that everyone is passing on? Advocate Article

With a name like "Jordan Loving," I would have opted for a career in porn.

This. Coach O is an excellent recruiter and can really find some gems. No need to waste time on the stars, we want some hard workers on our team!

Its all part of Ed’s super secret section of the binder. Its right after the chapter about intentionality whiffing on two top DBs this year.

What I gather is he is the second best QB in the whole class behind James Foster according to Orgeron. Loving is the only QB he allowed to join the team in this class after Foster said no. Orgeron must be pumped he chose LSU over Nicholls.

one of the guys from one of the mag/websites on lsu - might have been detillier, said the guy really looked great at the camps. he was mystified as well as to why the kid didn't get any attention.

maybe he could be a baker Mayfield. who knows?

He can recruit, but managing the entire operation is a different story.

There's a difference in knowing how to cook and running a restaurant.

One can make the argument that he can't recruit based on recent developments.

If this dude ever plays a meaningful snap for LSU then we have some serious issues. I'm happy he gets to pursue his dream but not every walk on is Baker Mayfield.

I think the one thing Detillier said about the reason he wasn't offered more is that Loving is rather thin like a beanpole and needs to put on some weight. Detillier also said JL knows how to read defenses pretty decently, so that's good. Personallly, I hope the kid gets an honest shot. I'm curious to see what he's got.

He won’t ever play. Happy the kid gets to follow his dreams and play for LSU but if he’s starting for us at any point in his career, we’re in deep shite

Okay so was Brennan and Brandon Harris yet they were highly touted. It’s more than just a weight issues

Orgeron knows he's going to be hitting the Goodnight-Loving Trail after this season, so the name sounded apporpirate.

If only he was as thick as Myles Brennan was coming out of high school.

Sometimes these unheralded guys are diamonds in the rough. Not getting my hopes up, but I wouldn't mind seeing him get a little game action someday.

This is a dumb statement. Your first sentence says if he EVER plays a meaningful snap, we are in trouble. Odds are, you are correct....but you don't know. He may be a diamond in the rough. Odds of being anything close to Baker Mayfield are about 10% if that!
But he may be a decent player. You write the kid off without him ever even practicing.
Thats stupid.
